Love these tires!
I waited to give these any review till 5000 miles. I love them. I have a ton of tread left front and rear and I'm not having the cupping issues and Noise I had with my previous 2 sets Bridgestones. I realize this is a heavy bike and me and my wife are not thin so...Its hard on tires. But I love these in the rain and Florida heat. I don't experience any tar snake or groove following issues some have mentioned. I'd buy these again in a heart beat. Best tires I've ever had on this bike. Also it should be mentioned, when I put these on I put on Centramatics balancers and new 90 degree metal valve stems. So she is smooth and the tires are always within a pound or so. I check them every time I ride. |

Very Happy
I've ridden Goldwings since 1977. Although I've tried differentbrands of tires, I've always come back to Dunlaps for performace and tire wear. The Dunlap E-4's have ben my favorites. My present Goldwing (2003) is showing 125,455 miles & am still riding close to 8,000 miles a year at 79 years of age. Will keep riding with Dunlaps as long as I have the bike. |

Great all around tire
Really liking this tire for the Gl1800 F6.Rolling only 2 lane roads, 2 up throughout the west, primarily Colorado. Seeing over 10k on the rear tire before the side-wall is through the wear bars, center of tire could go 10k more as well as the front. I change them in pairs and have for 40 years. Over conscientious with tire pressure, getting me great traction wet or dry and great mileage. You do get some road noise and the center groove can get a little squirrely on grooved pavement but minimal compared to the benefits of this tire.New set goes on tomorrow... |

Very good tires (10th set)
I run 42 pounds front and back. I'm on the 8th set of Elite 4 on my current Bike (1800 GW) and I have no complaints. I'm averaging around 20K per set and I am not one to ride my tires till you see the air in them. These things have performed to my satisfaction in rain and heat and cold. If I had to complain about something I'd have to find another subject.. Great tires. I'd recommend them to anyone. |

Elite 4
On my second set, just shy of 20,000 on rear, 26,000 front. Running 42psi rear and 41psi front. Only negative is front tire likes to track rain groves/cuts on freeways. |

FINAL REVIEW FOR THIS SET OF TIRES AT END OF SERVICE
Just replaced this set of E-4's. Mileage was 17,424 on the rear and 11,372 on the front. They were balanced with balance beads and the pressures were ran at 42 front and 44 rear. Riding consisted of a mix of mountains. ( I live in Maggie Valley N.C) and highway. Several trips of 2-3k miles each. On these trips I did pull a Bushtech trailer. I replaced this set with a exact replacement inclusive of new valve stems and balance beads. I would recommend them with the understanding that they will get somewhat noisy near the end of service life. The tires I pulled off were still considered safe but were down to the wear bars. |

I have been impressed (updated) *** Updated 11-24-2018 ***
20,000 miles on the front tire. As I said in my last review, I hit a bolt on the highway that punctured my rear tire at 15,000 miles on it, so I now have 5,000 miles on the rear and 20,000 miles on the front. I can still go a bit more on the front tire, maybe 25,000? We will see. The front still looks great (no cupping). Based on other reviews, I am wondering if the centramatics that I installed on the front and rear are helping prolong the tire life without any issues. If so, it was money well spent. |

I have been impressed (updated)
*** Updated 09-04-2018 *** With 15,000 miles on the tires... This is my second update to an original review I did on these tires. My wife and I road two up and we pulled a motorcycle trailer our last two trips, the last being 6,385 miles. The tires continue to perform without any issues. Handling and comfort, as well as wet weather traction are all great. Unfortunately, on the way home with about 120 miles remaining on our trip, I hit a bolt on the highway and it made a finger sized hole in the rear tire, almost instantly deflating the tire at 80 miles per hour. The bike felt squishy on the rear but I was able to ride about 3/10ths of a mile to a rest area. I put these tires on at 10,800 miles and had the flat at 25,800 miles, exactly 15,000 miles. I am certain I could have ridden another 5,000 miles with the remaining tread on the rear. As for the front, it still looks very good and I will most likely get another 5,000 miles out of it. For those wondering, I carry a spare rear wheel for my Goldwing in the back of the motorcycle trailer, so I was able to change out the tire and get home. I had a new Dunlop Elite 4 installed on the back and I hope to get 20,000 miles or more out of it. |

Dunlop Elite 4
I can't say I am very impressed. I have roughly 5000 miles on a new pair of Elite 4's. The front is great, shows no wear. The rear is chopping up pretty bad. You can see 3 distinct wear patterns. center and both sides. I run 44 psi consistently. The bike has been to Yellowstone and to Niagara, roughly 5000 miles. The rear is chopped up worse than the one I just took off of it. Not sure what is going on. It look as if I will need a new one in about 3000 more miles. I was under the impression that I would get about 15-18k miles out of these. |

I have been impressed
*** Updated 04-06-2018 *** I have 6,000 miles on the tires, they still look new and ride great. I love the tires. I would have been close to replacing (or replacing by now) a set of Bridgestones. No complaints. *** I recently finished a 7,250-mile road trip from Texas to the northwestern states. I had about 9,000 miles on the OEM Bridgestones and had to replace them. I wanted a tire that could give me much better mileage but still provide the comfort the Bridgestones did. After researching these and some convincing input from a local bike repair shop which primarily serves Harley's, I decided to go with these tires. The one thing I was concerned about was the comfort they would provide. I am a fan of the darkside for the mileage (ran a Bridgestone Driveguard for 30,000 miles on rear), but not for the handling. And though I didn't think I noticed the rougher ride, my wife didn't like the Darkside tire, so what the heck, I went back to OEM Bridgestones. Well, I say I was concerned because I found all sorts of great things about these tires, but everyone seemed totally silent on the "comfortable ride" part. I couldn't find anything or anyone talking about that. But I did it anyway and put them on (front and rear). Another potential concern was that in my research, I found riders who complained about this tire wanting to follow tar snakes. A few people complained about the ride on grooved pavement with these tires. My results? Holy smokes! Far superior to the darkside handling and comfort (I ran 42 PSI due to TPMS), and I would rate them superior in comfort and handling to the Bridgestones. I really, really like them. They are great in rain and really stick to the road. I had absolutely no problem whatsoever with them wanting to follow tar snakes. And as for grooved pavement, they performed much better than the OEM Bridgestones. Will it get the mileage the darkside offers? Of course not, but if I can pull off 15,000 - 20,000 miles, I would consider it a success. As for the wife, she says she will pay for the comfort these tires give her versus the darkside. (I am not against the darkside by the way). Some of my research indicated you can exceed 20,000 miles on the rear tire, and my repair shop that provided the input? He showed me a Dunlop Elite 3 he took off a Harley with 23,000 miles on it with very little wear evident... Yeah, not a Goldwing, but still. The tire looked great. And the Elite 4 was engineered for more mileage than the Elite 3, but with soft rubber for traction on the sides. Now, two things I offer as a disclaimer. I only have 3,000 on them, but it has been a great 3,000 miles. I am hoping to get some great mileage out of them, but that is a hope at this point. The second disclaimer is that I purchased Centramatics from Wingstuff and had them installed with the brand new Dunlop Elite 4's. How much of the comfort, handling, great ride on tar snakes and grooved pavement is the result of the Centramatics? I don't know. But what a difference the combination makes. I am sold on Centramatics and the Elite 4, for now. Assuming I don't run into issues in the miles ahead, I am sticking with these tires. Also, if I only get 10,000-12,000 miles out of them (unlikely I think), I will still stay with these tires. Final comment... I am not against the Darkside. I know 42 PSI seems a tad bit high on pressure, and perhaps that was an issue with the rougher ride my wife complained about. The TPMS warned me if I went lower and I am not changing it just because of the darkside tire. As for anyone else's negative experiences with tar snakes and grooved pavement, I believe you had the issues - but I didn't. In fact, with the Centramatics, I rode over tar snakes with zero issue, and some of the grooved pavement was rather severe that I rode over with zero issues. |

Dunlop E4 front and rear for my Goldwing Gl1800
I've owned 2 different set of Bridgestones for two different Goldwings GL1800, I wanted to try something different so I went with Dunlop E4's. So far I like the Dunlops better, the rear tire doesn't get worn down flat as faster because of the center tire reinforcement, handles better, appears to last longer. I will buy Bridgestone if I want to save a few bucks, but if I have a choice Dunlops would be my first pick. Sincerely Chriscaliente |

Apprehensive
Well I have about 9500 miles or more on these tires front and back. I run centramatics with them and i can say the tires show very little wear. it would nit surprise me at all if I got another 6-8K out of them or more. They stick to the road very well. I say apprehensive in the title because after I got these tires put on my bike developed a sweet front end wobble at about 35-45 mph. which was never there before so I am unsure if the tires are the cause or....Other than that I like the tire. If I was to learn the wobble is cause from something else then these would get a 6 star rating. |
