Do what they say will do
Easy to install and they do the job. After seeing increasing damage to the trunk and trunk lid caused by the rubbing of the lid against the botton truck I installed the bumpers. Instant fix.Wish I did it the first day I owned the bike. |

Great product, and works perfictly
I should have gotten these when I first got my bike years ago. My trunk rubbed the sides till wit was white powder. These have complete eliminated that. I did have to learn a new way to close the trunk :). But I would purchase again when I get my next GL1800.. |

They only take 5 minutes to fit and possibly one of the easiest things you can fit on the bike. I read some of the previous reviews for any useful tips, but the main ones are to apply a little pressure on the backrest to open and close the lid. |

RBBB - Wouldn't be Without Them
I have installed these on all four GL1800's ('06-'13) in my family. The most recent ones, FIRST install after arriving home with the bikes. I keep extras on hand to give to friends (installed) when I work on their bikes when needed. These beauties save wear and tear on the trunk and lid. I DO cut off about 1/16" off the top. When closing the lid, I NEVER let it slam shut, instead lowering into place, pulling on the passenger back rest and pushing gently on the back of the lid. A simple solution to the wear and tear on the trunk and lid. |

Installed on two of My Wings
I had these on my 2004 ABS and recently bought these for my 2005 GL1800. Now. the template shows the exact edge spot where you line it up on the trunk. And when you mark the spots you will see the spots are very close to the outside edge of the trunk (you will think 'to close'). Reason is there is a double layer of plastic for connecting the trunk together towards the inside edge. I drilled the holes and then spitted on them (as instructed) and used a small screw driver to push the edge on the outside part of the bumper into the hole. After getting it to start into the hole on the edge I then pulled them down with needle nose pliers (back and forth) and continued to work the small screw driver around the upper outside edge. They then popped in. Yes, the trunk will be tight closing, but my experience with them on my older 2004 bike is after a while they do form in and the trunk becomes easier to close. The instructions will tell you all of this. I definitely think they are well worth it. |

Just be a little flexible.
Like everyone is saying. Patience putting them in is the key. Front is harder to get in. Opening and closing is different Needs firmer closing and slight downward pressure when opening. You get the feel what it takes to open and close. Haven't had thenm in that long but seems to do what they are supposed to. |
