Black Anodized Sidestand Pad
I live in Louisiana and it really gets warm here. As you can imagine the parking lots also get warm here. I just got this and put it on. Simple addition. Not as bulky as I presumed when kickstand is up. Looks ok down and if works as well on hot asphalt as it does in soft ground you can't go wrong. Got tired of looking for something to put under kickstand and still worrying about Gold Wing falling over. Definitely worth weight in gold and peace of mind and I am a guy that likes to keep my bike looking nice. This product, just buy it, you won't regret it. Thank you |

Inexpensive peace of mind
I had one of these on my other, much lighter bike. I park on lots of soft or unknown surfaces, so this is a must have. After checking the fit (perfect), I added a little RTV to the pad (not in the instructions), slid it into place and then tightened down the set screw. The RTV is probably overkill, but it can't hurt. Very solid and clears everything when the stand is up. |

Stand on solid ground.
You be surprised what confidence this little guy will give you 😉. Now you can park anywhere you need . This was all ready installed on my bike when I bought my GL 1800. And I would recommend you all getting one too . |

Black Anodized Sidestand Pad
Placed it on my 2010 goldwing with no issues, Slipped on snuggly and tightened set screw which already had what appeared to be loctite or similiar material on the set screw. Havn't used on soft surfaces yet. |

Perfect
I don't know ... I read these reviews and I really get confused. Here's my experience with this part is a nutshell. I have a 2014 'wing. Pad slipped on without problems. Put a drop of Loctite on the set screw. Tightened it down. Put it up and down - absolutely no problems. Rode off. It is not made out of rubber - it is anodized aluminum. The setscrew won't come out if you use Loctite. It does not hit the bike. I did not not have to install it with a hammer. I did not have to grind down my stand. It looks good. The bike no longer digs into hot asphalt. Problem solved - literally, less than a ten minute job. |

Black Anodized Sidestand Pad
Would not just slip on, it was tough to get it within a 1/4" of all the way. I would have had to do a lot of grinding on the kickstand to make it fit. Pounded it on as far as it would go and couldn't get it back off, figured it was good where it was. Put lock tight on the set screw and put some black sealant in the small area that was still exposed from not being on all the way and you can't tell the difference. I think if it were on all the way it would hit the exhaust cover but fine the way it is, just clears. I don't think it will ever come off. |

Easy install
Slides right on side stand. Use lock tight on the set screw or it will loosen up fast. As for use with Kuryakyn floorboards, it will hit against the boards. The solution I used was I placed the fuzzy side of an industrial strength Velcro pad on the under side of the board where the side stand hit it and I had no problems with it. Widens the footprint of the stand enough to make the bike stable in most conditions. |

Black Anodized Sidestand Pad
Firstly anyone ordering from Australia, it took only 9 days from the order date to receiving my order up here in Brisbane QLD. I've been looking for this pad for awhile for my 2013 Goldwing. As most owners would be aware the standard side stand pad is on the small side. Having parked up on gravel on several occasions only to watch the side stand slowly but surely sink. Well this sure won't happen again after fitting the Pad. It's solid, doesn't detract from the look of the bike, is easy to fit. My only issue is that an Allen key should be included with the purchase. Then a 5 star rating would have applied. |

Set screw loosens over time
Bought this in 2010 and it is still on my bike. However, the set screw comes loose often. You'll know it is loose when you raise and lower the stand and can hear the pad loose. I have tried using Loctite on the set screw, however Loctite eventually wears as time goes by. It would be great if the manufacturer had a better way to lock this down onto the stand so that I don't have to keep tightening the set screw. This pad also has some interference when it is in the up position. Interference you will notice when using the OEM foot pad and wearing boots. Other than the set screw problem, this is a good cheap option to have on the kickstand to widen the stand surface when using on multiple surfaces. I've had no problems with this on sand, gravel, or loose pavement. However, on some soft surfaces, for added security, I have placed a piece of wood (shingle) or metal plate under to prevent sinking. |

So far so good
I've had no issues with this piece of equipment so far. Didn't have any problems installing(only took about two minutes)it fit like a glove, and tightened down nicely. Works well on gravel, and other soft surfaces. |

Floorboard trouble
One reviewer says this doesn't work with Kury floorboards. True. The board forces the kickstand down a bit. Some filing on my part allowed it to fit wonderfully. There is the matter of reduced cornering clearance but that is resolving itself as it grinds down. My wife doesn't like the grinding noise so I try to avoid it. Also, as you file it, you find the very nice aluminum look. I removed all the black and have nothing but great comments! Even though it is smaller now it is still plenty large for its intended purpose. Perhaps they should make a model to fit the Kury floorboards! Hint hint... 8000 miles with the pad so far...on many surfaces. Definitely a must have regardless of its drawbacks. |
