I put the installation of this off for a couple of weeks. All of the Honda instructions are in metric. I went out to find metric drill bits to no avail. You will need to do some conversion. I got a stage cone shaped bit. It allowed me to drill a little at a time to make sure I didn't mess up. You do not need to disassemble the trunk or the faring. I worked around it as I could not figure out how to disassemble the faring all the way.I got a flexible snake drill bit extension. I used a one inch hole saw bit and drilled from inside the trunk. Had my neighbor help. You need two sets of hands for that. Google," Goldwing CB radio installation". Nice color pictures helps you to find all of the connections. When you get to the faring you will need to take the trim piece off. Mark the screws with a Sharpie to identify them. They are all different sizes. Take out the right glove box and panel under it. ie GPS panel. You need to pop out the engine vent and the inside vent behind it. The connection for the CB is just to the left of that vent at the front of the gas tank. Run the cord under the gas tank sheath. Take your time especially when drilling the holes for the electric and the trunk antenna. The antenna is marked by light cross etchings inside the trunk. Drill from inside out. |

Wingstuff has the best price on this one, I looked all over for a better one. It is expensive for a radio but what can you do? I like the fact that I can talk with the guys who spring for this as well. The Goldwingers around here have the radio and when we ride it is nice to be able to speak and hear what the front riders and back riders are experiencing. Also highway riding is better too, the trucjers have a lot of info on the the road ahead. |

Installation was fairly easy, however I am good with tools. When I had to drill the hole for the wires to go through the trunk, to loosen the 2 bolts in the front completely and then just losen the back ones you can lift the front of the trunk and put a 1x2 board under it to drill the hole. As it is the front two bolts in the bottom of the trunk hold the bottom of the antenna mounts. Good time to do the air filter if you have not done it yet. |

Nothing new to say that hasn't been said in other reviews. Hondaline quality at Hondaline prices but it is the right gear for the bike. Install was no problem...I enjoy working on my toys. Keep track of which bolts come from which holes on the fairing, otherwise straight forward. |

Ok, it has five stars for a reason, it's the best CB option for your Wing. Once you've got it installed it's basically flawless. Make sure you do the SWR adjustments. Will need to go to Radio Shack to get the right connectors for the hook up, but I remember the cost was less than $20 for everything. |

Bought the radio and OEM antenna. Works great and sounds great. When I looked at the installation instructions I knew it was going to be a job and a half. Fortunately I had recently joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (www.gwrra.org) I had allot of experienced help installing it all. It took about 2-1/2 hours and all went well. Really glad I bought the radio and joined gwrra. Check them out they are not just in the states but world wide. |

Had mine for a few weeks now. Installed it myself with a friend of mine. I was able to use a Dremmel to cut the hole in the trunk with it in place that saved allot of time, just take your time. The plugs weren't hard to find but make sure you here the click for a good connection. I had a problem after the first day of riding with the front harness plug loosening up witch caused a CB ERROR on my display. Do yourself a favor and secure the front connector with a small ti rap or wax string even if you here the click. I still can't figure out how that connector came loose. Best price from Wing Stuff and works great now. Whole new experience riding and communicating with the Buds. Thanks Wing Stuff! |

Got my radio and OEM antenna for Christmas, and had AJ and his crew install them the first part of Jan.. A member of our club reported static, buzzing and short range with his, so was nervous about it as I don't do "not good" and didn't look forward to the hassle it it wasn't good. So after using it successfully for a while now, I have no problems, and find it works great. I wanted it for safety on solo rides on the big road, and bike to bike, but not many have em as they are so pricy. I use a Scala Q2 for bike to bike in my group, which is way good for a lot less bucks. I have both set up in my same helmet, two sets of ears and two mics. No problem to use and not hard to do. |

This CB radio is a nice addition to the Goldwing. If you ride with a group, you definitely need a radio. While the Honda CB Radio is pricey, Wing Stuff's price is the best around. I had the radio installed, only because I needed it very quickly. The instructions are very clear and if followed, you should not have any problems. This radio works better than the one on my 2006 GL 1800. |
