| HAH - that's funny, it took me all of a minute to notice the tightness if mounted as pictured so I TOO installed the unit point-up. 1. I am not happy with the finish of the gold. It's not smooth. It's obvious to anyone who really looks at it that it's an inexpensive plastic add-on. I purchased this to help make sure I did not damage the paint when using the key on the trunk, which I rarely do since I use the remote to lock and unlock. I am satisfied overall with the unit, but I do wish it had a better finish. |
| Just put these on and haven't ridden with them much other than an initial test ride. However, I could tell immediately that there was far less turbulent side air on me than there was with just the Baker Hand Wings on the mirrors. I also think they're the least offensive looking deflectors and actually have decent looking lines. I'm not into big ol' honkin' deflectors no matter how good they work, so I don't plan on any lowers especially since as they are, these will also let me use my Mick O' Pegs without getting in the way of my legs. My only missive is that they don't quite fit up and form around the mirrors and fairing as closely as I'd like for a more finished look, nor does the vent wing have much adjustibility or effect. These are basically for long rides with the wife. They're easy to install and remove, a plus. |
| Looks like I am the too critical guy. 1. The angle of the actual armrests themselves doesn't match ANY of the lines on the bike. They position your hands much lower than you elbows so it is uncomfortable and clashes visually. 2. The pads are VERY slippery. This has become a significant annoyance for my passenger who is constantly repositioning her arms because they keep sliding. (This would not be such an issue if the armrests were level with the ground.(This would also line up with the rest of the lines on the bike.)) 3. The cup holder is a very freaky size. I am not at ALL happy with the size of the cup holder in any way shape, or form. Would be so much better if just a bit larger or smaller. 4. ALL of my parts are install by First City Honda dealership. FYI - a standard to-go cup from your local restaurant will usually leak ALL over that side of your bike. I found this out the hard way doing less than 55 mph. Use containers that have some kind of seal or sealing lid / cap. |
| Great in concept, BUT... 1. The turn signal section of this kit is not very bright. (It doesn't seem as bright as when the brake lights were on - same bulbs) 2. My brake lights on the trunk no longer work as brake lights. 3. These flash at the same time as your factory turn signals. (This was a suprise as the trunk turn signal kit for my GL 1200 alternated the trunk and stock turn signals, so that was what I expected. Big let down for me) 4. Not very noticable. I do not feel that this product lives up to expectations. 5. I had this kit installed by the Dealer per the instructions that came with the kit. If I had it to do all over again, I would have this kit control the INNER trunk lights to retain the original brake light configuration on the outside lights. This kit does work, but there were a few suprises for me. |

| OK I installed it so that all the brake lights modulate as was instructed to do, and worked for one day only, luckely I check my brake lights and found out it didn't work any more. then I did the math. it states that max capacity is 10amps time 12 volts is 120 watts haw ever six light bulbs with 21 watts is 126 watts. So if you are connecting it to the spoiler light it's OK or only to the trunk light bubls but not to all the brake lights on the bike |
| Look great, but like the other reviewers if you lower them to the most comfortable spot which is one down from level you can drag the ends. Going to try purchasing the shorter arms. |
| this is great .one bit of good news if you purchased the trunk lights upper ..the harness for the trunk lighting already has the extr plug for the modulator ..so again one purchase prepares for the modulator .if not you can buy the Y spitter ... |
