A must have. These make packing for a trip so much easier and when you get to the motel you just grab your 3 bags and head into your room. You're done! Great fit as well. |
Very happy. 60 miles without a backrest and my back was killing me, 250 miles with the backrest and still going strong. I am sure the first long trip will be fine. I had a bar style on my last 'Wing and it was always rubbing my SO's legs the wrong way. Had this one on my Valk and loved it. I must admit it was hard to do the seat cut. After that it was an easy install. The rest flops around unless you snug the pivot bolts. The only thing I would change is a rounded top, more like the passenger rest. |
Installed them on my 07 Goldwing trike and am a little disappointed. I can't get them to stop turning in the wind. Tried to adjust them to get more air on me and they keep turning around backward and appear like they are under extreme stress from the wind force. Baker needs to look at this!!! |
Unfortunately I had purchased this product from a local vendor and paid WAY too much. I will continue to purchase through WingStuff as I did just last night! I had read most of the other reviews on the pegs and decided anyways to purchase them. I had a trip set up to visit my daughter down in Greenville, NC @ ECU. After opening up the box and getting to the instructions I found out why other reviewers gave poor reviews on this product. Someone needs to re-read the instructions. Other than that they are wonderful, I would suggest that you have two people to help after 3/4's of the peg assembly has been put together. He or she will help out as you position the pegs to your liking. I have short legs, inseam of 30" on a good day. They made my trip to NC wonderful. My next trip will be to Deals Gap later this or next month. |
It's OK, but ShowChrome should have designed it to fit over the metal peg without the rubber. Had they done so, they could have made it a smaller diameter that is closer to the original. This puppy is about twice the diameter of the original and will take some getting used to, especially with boots. The awkwardness of the new shifter size and difficult installation put it down to 2 stars. I cannot recommend them. If you decide to get them, the necessary wrench is 2, not the 2.5mm called out in the instructions. I recommend skipping their dumb installation method and go with this: flatten two spots on the sides of the round metal peg base with a dremel, then drill a small indentation into each of the flat spots for the set screws (if you're good at drilling, you can just drill the spot using a punch to start). The shorter set screws will work if you don't go crazy with the flattening or drilling. When you're done it'll be rock solid, but I agree with the other reviewers that locktite would be good insurance. |
best cleaner / polish around. leaves line new finish |
Need a Y addapter for use with mirror add on turn signals and there is no plug for the LED turn signal add ons |
Very tight in the housing and the plug n play adapter does not work. Will change out when I get the Muth mirrors installed. |
not the one used for the faring pouch where the 12 volt plug and AUX cable are. Not well stated in the info |
I rarely have a problem with parts....I installed this unit, instead of the Honda antenna because it is supposed to be "Better" than the Honda stock unit. After installation, the cylinder of the antenna base where it goes into the chrome bolted base is?was loose and rotated around and around...it also had a vertical "Play" in the unit of 3/4...in a few words it is loose. Furthermore, the Kuryaykn flagpole would not fit over the antenna like it does the stock unit. Therefore, it is oversized when compared to the stock unit. I have two flagpoles, and could not install the Kury without drilling out the mounting cylinder..which I refused to do. The manufacturer was nice on the phone...June, and said they made over 6000 of these units with only 5 or 6 problems....well I got number 7. Am ordering the stock Honda unit forthwith. |
great looking and easy installation. works very well. |
This is a well built product BUT you cannot use standard 6"x9" flags. The flag that come with the pole are not very nice and they are of odd size so you cannot replace them with any others. I have also checked for a replacement flag and you can't find them anywhere. Nice product - POOR DESIGN. |
