They work well for what they are intended for. They can interfere with your legs and the highway pegs if you have your pegs high and fwd. But for moving air around they work great. |
Took about an hour to install this power receptacle in the trunk. Instructions are good, as well as the picture of the suggested mounting location. The 1-1/8" hole that I drilled for the installation was either very slightly reamed a bit or the clips holding the unit in place are a little weak. With very little pressure the unit would pop out of the hole it was installed in. To fix this....While I still had the back of the unit exposed I 'locked' it in place with some hot melt glue in the unexposed area only. This worked very nicely. |
Awesome. I wished wing stuff would offer chrome floor board brackets. |
Bling ! Bling! This is the best piece of chrome you can add to the side of your bike. Easy to install. I install mine in less than 30 mins at the hotel while attending a rally. |
I agree with others. This product is very easy to install and works better than the longer aftermarket ones. A must have when adding other chome to side of bike. |
Great look for the side of the bike and very easy to install. you cant go wrong with this item. |
The trunk chrome looks good but it doesn't want to stay on. I have had both of them come loose and flap in the breeze. The glue strip must be faulty. |
Nice chrome accent and a snap (okay, two screws) to install. |
Nice piece of chrome in just the right place. Easy install if not for a broken screw (not the fault of the product). |
Debated between this trailer hitch and the staff pick Item #: AO451806 for $149. I sent an email to CWOLAW for his instructions. They were 12 pages long and required the loosening of the mufflers and saddlebags. (Not my cup of tea) He was wonderful for sending the instructions and his instructions were very detailed, but some people still had problems with gaps when reinstalling the body pieces. Taking the cost of time into consideration I chose the Kuryakyn and I am glad I did. The entire install took 2 hours from start to finish, even with making a mistake. I also installed the isolator with the relay Item #: AO451819. All this was included in the 2 hours. The only problem was I was installing the hitch onto a 2008. This years model has a box right smack dab in the middle in the back. It has a large heat sink and I am not sure what it is for, but I do know that it should be left alone. Despite this small difference the only thing I had to do was bend the c clamp part a little in order to get it behind the crossbar. There is very little space between the crossbar and the saddlebag. I had to force it but it did work. The only tow negative aspects to the whole process is the long bolts that attach the clamps to the bars going back are a little long and I had to be careful not the damage the saddlebags. Second is the bolts are different sizes and you need more sockets than they say are required. Overall a strong piece of equipment on the bike. I have no doubts that it can handle the trailer. |
It took me more like 5 hr to install the matching trunk and saddle bag moldings on my bike. Instructions were adequate, but I encountered a fit problem with the saddle bag molding and could have used better pictures or hints at this point. My problem was excess body paint preventing the leading screw stanchion on the saddlebag molding from making it *into* the hole on the bag, which prevented the molding from resting flush with the bag. Once I found this, a quick cleanout with a pocket knife put me back in business and they look great. The lack of lighting on the sides of the bike always bothered me, and these kits are just what you need to solve that problem... and they look sharp. |
Install was not difficult. Instructions were good. Installation took about 2 hours. These are just what my Wing needed. |
