So we are in a tough spot here. If you go with this unit you face 3 main issues.. 1. Flags LOVE to wrap around themselves. 2. Correct installation is a nightmare due to the fat that the locknut on the ant is either completely unadjustable (recessed inside this unit without ANY way to touch it!) or you have to remove the locknut altogether and struggle with it for a LONG time to get it in just the right position, HOPING it never comes loose. (Or you give up and just tighten it down but have to loosen it to fold the ant's down to put a cover on the bike, then tighten it back down when you are ready to ride.) 3. The chrome on mine went south in less than 2 months. I have been assured by the man' that they will be replaced, but I have not set aside the time to get them replaced. When I do get them replaced they will be going on e-bay. I am testing a new setup now, but ironically have had VERY good luck using the ant itself as the flagpole. Cut a small hole in the flagpole loop of the flag itself and put on a zip tie, or tie tie and bam.... done. My POW/MIA flag has been working perfectly like this for over 3 months now! (That's approx. 14,ooo +/- miles.) |
| Nice product for the price. I haven't used them yet, but the fit and finish looks good. The fabric is the same thickness as you're used too on other products of this type. Hopnel is a good name, and I don't expect any problems. What really sold me was the "cherry picking" of the product. Sold by the piece, so you don't buy what you don't need. I don't need a trunk liner, so I didn't waste any money on buying a 3 pc set. Saved about $25 by going with this product. |

Purchased this and the knobs and the two matching covers for the headlight control & Nav areas. LOVED the look, but got very tired of the sun glaring back into my face. I ended up pulling it all off and going with color matched parts. LOVE my color matched parts and no longer have the glare! That being said, this is a good product that is well made. Just make sure you wear a full face with good sunglasses. Did I mention the headlights of passing cars will also blind you? |
