Very easy to install. Like the running light and then doubles the brightness when apply the brakes
Looks great. Perfect match for 08 Pearl white. Also installed the Show Chrome Dual function running/brake light converter, highly recommend for added visibility. Only issue with install was the ejector pin marks on my trunk lid were about an 1" further apart then the holes on the template. I tried to line them up but the holes I drilled ended up beginning a little off (not good for the nerves). I had to drill all 4 holes holes larger to get the screws in but the gasket on the spoiler still covered the larger holes.
Excellent product, looks great. I'd recommend installing the risers with the rack so that you cal get under the rack for cleaning.
I had a pair of Iso-pegs for years on another bike. After years of service, they still looked new. I'm just as happy with the GL1800 Iso-pegs and extensions. They look great and I expect similar reliability. One reviewer mentioned that the peg extension snapped on a flop-over. That may not be a bad thing. As with any rigid assembly, it is good for the stress-bearing components to have "give" somewhere in the assembly. I'd just as soon that it be on a part as easily replaceable as the peg extension.
Rack has provided good service over past four years. First trip was from Oklahoma City, OK to Fairbanks, AK. The rack and matching bag worked great, and the bag (Also Kury) was, and remains adequately waterproof without the cover. Several trips inside Alaska in all kinds of weather has shown that this is a great product that is meant for the long haul. This past July, I made a run from Fairbanks to Penticton, British Columbia and back, and noticed that the rubber insert was coming off from the top down. A little squirt of silicon underneath and momentary pressure fixed the problem. This is a solid investment for the serious tourer.
I like the VIP membership and I have already recouped the cost of my membership. It claims you will save an "average of 10%". The previous rater was not satisfied because he wants his discount from regular price rather than discount from retail price. The VIP membership is a loyalty program and if you buy lots of stuff from Wingstuff you will save lots of $$$. Simple.
Everybody is right on this item. It's basically a part of your filtration system and a logical advance warning of engine problems. Minimal cost, so why not?
Great looking rack! Had this installed about a year ago and have used many times. I never load more than about 10 pounds on the rack. I don't have the spoiler and don't plan on getting one, so I didn't get the risers. I think it looks better without them and I've had no problems with the trunk lid cracking or being able to clean underneath it.
This backrest looks great with the original seat. Makes those long rides more comfortable. This was the first extra I bought for the bike, worth every penny! 12,000 miles, no complaints.
Easily installs in the left fairing pocket. Drill a hole, push it in, then connect to OEM wiring plug. I noticed a slight buzzing when listening to my ipod thru my helmet speakers when the charger is plugged in. The noise is only noticeable during song breaks so it doesn't bother me.
I bought one of these to see if I could tolerate riding in the 110 degree heat here in Phoenix. Without much wind sitting behind the fairing of a Goldwing, the cooling effect is minimal. Opening the windshield vent just blows hot air in your face and not on your chest. I might try installing Baker Wings to see if that helps. Fits well under a mesh jacket and the slime goes away after a few uses.
Not only does this wrench work, but it lays flat in your toolbox. Less space is a good thing.
