Mounted new Avons, using the beads. Bought beads and tires from Wingstuff, but my local dealer Service Mgr is a friend, so he mounted both tires for $25 since he wanted me to tell him how the beads worked out. His `high speed' balancer really only spins at 15 mph (or less), and both tires showed .25 ounces off. So for the first 100 miles I could have sworn I heard the `rice in bamboo rain forest' sound off the back tire. Okay, it was just me. And it was kinda cool. But there is no `humping' from unbalanced tires, NO front wobble, and now I don't have to have weights. Yippee! In reality, the ride is smooth and I will continue to use thee when I mount my backup Metzlers. Very interested to see if these help with the Metzler wear issues, or if they really create a smoother wearing tire. But as is, so far, I LYKUM!. |
| A high quality item. Stainless steel cup liner and I like the option of removeing the holder ring when not in use! |
| Purchased this unit to replace a defective J&M headset. Works great so far and can't beat the price! |

Put a set on today with the standard 6" swing arms. Find them quite comfortable to use as they permit a different body position (butt, hips, lower back, as well as legs)! As has happened before, I have a couple of bones to pick, however. 1. The kit comes with instructions that include a parts list as well as various subassemblies and a hardware bag. The subassemblies already use several of the pieces of hardware that are called out on the parts list, so "faith" is required that you have all of the necessary parts 2. The parts list does not contain any pictures of the various parts, so for non-engineers like me, identifying the hardware parts to the parts list and assembly instructions is not an easy task 3. The hardware includes two 1/2 inch internal tooth lock washers. The instructions don't call for these to be used. I used them behind the heads of the bolts that attach the peg to the swing arm Otherwise, all is well and I'm off to more comfortable riding! |
