Installed this on a 2009 GL1800. Picked this brand over others. Just wanted it to match and be of good quality. Installation is a piece of cake. Marks on in the trunk as advertised. As the instructions say, start with a small drill bit and work your way up. If you don't have metric drill bits, search the web for a conversion chart and always pick the smaller bit that is close to the size you need. I used this conversion chart (https://www.csgnetwork.com/drillsizeconvert.html) You can all ways make the hole a little bigger if needed. I wasn't too excited about drilling holes in my wing with only 2000 miles on it though. I agree with others that trying to set the SWR is pretty much impossible using the motorolla type ends that are on the antenna and CB radio. SWR meter is expecting PL-259 type of connections. Went to Radio Shack and found a series of adapters to go from Motorolla to BNC to PL-259. With the added length (almost 3 inches) to the antenna side using the adapters, the SWR reading was relative high. I'm hoping, as others have asked, that the antenna and CB radio (both Honda Brand) are somewhat pre-matched as far as the SWR is concerned. However, reception is great. Have not had a chance yet to determine transmission distance. Regardless, it looks great and balances out the rear end of the bike.

I like these tires. I had always ridden on Dunlops on the old Wing and left them on the new Wing until the guys at WingStuff convinced me to try the "Stones". The first thing I noticed is that the sidewall is a lot more rigid than the Dunlops. Really woke me up on the first tight turn I made. Took a bit of getting used to, but it also seems to help me with slow speed stability. I've had them on the bike for almost a year now. They are quiet and comfortable and I'll be buying them again when they wear out. |
This is a great product. The quality is excellent and it provides a nice shine in area. I only wish I used velcro instead of two-sided tape in case I ever have to remove it.
Recently purchased a Kuryakyn windshield that was defective and after calling Wingstuff customer service they were great about taking it back and recommending I try the F4 GL1800 windshield instead. I know why they recommended it, the F4 windshield gave my wife and I good wind protection compared to my stock windshield and has a slippery surface that makes cleaning very easy. I ordered the +2 so I can still adjust it up and down like the stock windshield, I almost bought the +4, but it has a fixed height and I'm not very tall so this worked just great for both of us. Highly recommend! Frank
GREAT ADDITION TO MY BIKE. TOOK OTHERS ADVISE AND REMOVED THE FENDER. THIS TAKES A LITTLE LONGER BUT IT ALLOWS YOU THE ABILITY TO LINE UP EVERYTHING IN PLACE,SECURE IT AND THEN DRILL THE HOLES.SHOULD HAVE ADDED THIS SOONER. LOOKS GREAT AND HELPS KEEP THE ROAD FILM OFF THE THE BIKE
THE PRODUCT WAS EASY TO INSTALL BECAUSE THE DIRECTIONS WERE WELL WRITTEN,TEMPLATES WERE A GREAT HELP AND IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME AND MEASURE TWICE,THE INSTALL IS A BREEZE.I GOT THE RED ONES TO MATCH MY RED 08 AND WITH THE CHROME BRACKETS,THEY LOOK AND WORK GREAT!
I love the Wingstuff half cover. I had a Hondaline seat cover, then I installed a Utopia driver's backrest. Obviously, the smaller Hondaline cover is now useless to me because it cannot fit over the driver's backrest. (Anyone want it?) The half cover is great for roadtrips because it can be thrown on your bike before the powerplant cools off. I'm hesitant to do that with a full cover for heat/condensation reasons. Put the full cover aside until season's end. Ideal product.
Installed when I purchased by Goldwing at the dealership! Works great and WingStuff had the lowest price I could find.
Installed at the dealership when I bought my Goldwing! Very nice, looks good and the brake light is very bright. Worth the $$!
Installed these over a year ago and still in good condition. Easy install and adjust to easy.
Installed about two weeks after I purchased the bike, in Feb. 08. Had dealer to install. I later installed the dual function converter BB52734. The light is on constant, and when I break. I like the looks and the safety of the lights.
It was installed on bike 17 Mo. ago whan I bought bike. Have had two other backrest in the past and this one is the best yet. It is adjustable to fit your back as you would like. VERY comfortable
