Only having a G.Wing for less than a couple of weeks, we had little very little time to buy what we felt was the right to outfit the bike, have the new tires and accessories installed by the dealer, and get it on the road ASAP. This rack was my first choice which I did order, but I had second opinions after seeing the warning sticker not to exceed the 5lb limit rating. The owner of our local dealership uses the same rack on his bike. We spent 8 hours at a much larger dealership yesterday that had a pin strip artist with people coming from some distances to have their bikes done, and just about every Wing that came in had this rack on it, plus so many other accessories I had no idea even existed. I am extremely pleased and more so that I ordered it with the risers. This works perfectly with the $35 luggage bag shown on the first page of GL1800 accessories. Took a bit to figure how to fasten it, but I can assure you it is not coming off. If you did not have the risers, it would be quite some challenge putting the bag on the rack. The rack looks great and should last the life of the bike. |

This was the first of three luggage bags I bought from WS. I could not make up my mind until a week later after I bought two of the more expensive bags for comparisons. It took no more than ten minutes to decide this was the best, most securely attached of all the bags I got from WS. This was installed on a Kuryakyn rack with risers, and neither is coming off any time too soon, which is exactly what I wanted. Extremely secure! The rain cover is a bit much to get back in the storage pouch (IMO) and I would have liked to have an adjustable cord on the cover. This is one heck of a pack and can't beat the price. Add some zipper pulls and you will love this item. Also works great if you need to carry a collapsible cane. Fits inside the velcro cover on top with both ends secured to the loops on the side of the bag. I used a Voyager waterproof bag inflated to keep the bag's shape when empty, using the provided rain cover (along with a bike cover) for year round weather protection, as we do not have a garage. This is darn near perfect! |

I bought the Pakit Rak luggage rak system and a Bushtec V2 hitch at the same time. This combination makes for the perfect GW luggage and cooler carrier system. With a full hitch, you do not have to worry about weight limits of the items in your bag, and the Pakit Rak rides on a very low center of gravity. I do not notice it is even there when riding in strong winds. The GW license plate shows through when the Pakit is in place and the rain cover provides great protection. The bag is very durable, has many compartments and will last for many years to come. The only cons are the Pakit hitch mount is smaller than usual and does not have a lock. When going over speed bumps, it may scrape the bottom of the tray, and mounting the luggage using the bar requires you to get on your knees (unless the wife does it). I highly recommend the Pakit Rak for anyone traveling weeks at a time. It will releive the weight in the OEM luggage compartments or using the trunk luggage rack for heavy items and risk cracking. Now when I retire, I can purchase that trailer and take a trip for 6 months! |
| Be careful when you order to order the right one . either the passenger or the driver. I got in a hurry and ordered the wrong one and it cost me $10 to send back. |
| This stuff is great. Looks good and when the bike sits and get dusty,,, it wipes right off. Excellent on the windshield too! |
| So glad I now have them on my bike. What a difference they make. Had them installed by the dealer and they billed me for only 45 minutes. |
| Wish I knew how to modify my last review. I do not recommend! |
| Fit and finish are good and what a difference it make in how you trunk looks. Although, the smaller mat that covers your CD changer compartment is very cumbersome when you access that area. It seems to just get in the way when I want to close that compartment. I gave it four stars because of the smaller mat but still recommend the mats for sure! |
| I initially installed this net as shown in the picture which is at the back of your trunk (lock location) but found it served me better at the front (passenger back rest area) instead. I use this net for maps, wipes, log book you name it and I have it in there. Locating it in the front works best because what every you put in there will not be damaged due to the constant access to you trunk. Also, my helmet seems to fit better with the net in this location. I recommend buying this for more storage and it's less then ten dollars. |
| The fit and finish on the Kuryakyn highway pegs are really good and look good on the bike as well. I am 6 foot tall and do enjoy the pegs but there is a problem hitting the side faring which have irritated the inside of my legs. I do plan on adjusting to eliminate this problem. Over all I am pleased and the highway pegs make a long ride much more pleasureful. |
| I really really like this back rest especially after wasting my money on the Kuryakyn. No problems adjusting and the wife like it too especially since there are no obstruction hitting her legs, (I mentioned the poorly designed Kuryakyn right?) One negative is the mounting hardware that sits on top of the seat can be hazardous to your passengers lower extremities. Maybe Utopia can make a safety pad like a bmx bicycle stem cover. I hope this helps, I strongly recommend it. |
| This really works for those hot days just so long as your rides are short. It gets really uncomfortable after an hour in the saddle due to the pressure of your body weight pressing into the beads. Maybe my rear lacks an adequate amount of cushion? :) |
