This pan saved my engine last night after hitting what appeared to be a metal pipe in the road. At 50+ mph, it happened so fast, I didn't have time to avoid it. I was able to stay in control and pull over safely. After arriving home and looking underneath, it didn't penetrate the stainless steel pan. This pan did exactly what it was designed to do, my old pan was aluminum and may have saved my engine, but aluminum is not as strong as stainless. Another thing I noticed was less engine heat compared to my old pan. This one has vents which seems to make a difference in hot weather. It gets really hot here in Florida. A must have kind of item for your wing for sure!! Ronnie |
I installed a pair on the saddle bags last year and really liked them and they have stayed on nice and tight. So decided to put the trunk pair on this year. It looks good and fit fairly well. I always use a hair dryer first to both warm up the double stick tape and the place I'm sticking it to.
Put this on last week and it adds a nice touch to the back side of the trunk. I also like the fact that it helps protect the paint from scratches when using the key. It was worth it.
I read the online instructions may times before buying and read all the reviews. It took 3 hours to install on my “08” and the hardest part was alignment. Insert the 4 bolts into “H bar” then take out to insure proper threading. Also do this for forward saddle bag frame bolt (I) since longer supplied bolt was needed. Leave all bolts loose when assembling for alignment. The rear passenger floorboards (C) were not taken off, nor was the muffler clamp bolts (E) loosened. Just loosening the muffler support bolt (F) allowed enough freedom for alignment of bolts. In step 6 the cross bar was retained to support the electrical box with no problems. This cross support bar (H) is a “V” shaped bar rather than a straight cross bar on my “08”. Very sturdy.
I would purchase again. Looks great and works well. And thats all I have to save.
I opened the package and broke the left bracket and got angry. Went ahead and installed the rest of the hardware and complete right side. Road 6oo miles with the one side. Definitly could tell the difference between the two sides so I ordered a replacement bracket. Great help from wingstuff and National cylce on the replacement part. Now I am happy.

I had ordered these colormatched from roadtrip essentials before wingstuff carried them. They installed easy, but I had to take my deflectors off. The air defection of them is only slightly better than nothing. (my hands were still cold) The mirror set at it's widest point is only slightly wider than the stock mirror adjusted as far as it will go with aftermarket turnsignals installed on them. I tried mounting them on the top of the mirror like someone else I had seen. The view was better, but the mirror shook too much and was useless. I called them up and told them my issue and the responded with "So your're saying they SUCK?" (there words not mine) They said alot of people don't like them, but they sell a lot to trike owners. I ended up getting ones you stick on the mirrors from harbor freight. I put them on the inside edges because all I could see was my hands anyway. |
These really did the trick, I'm 6'2" and these put my feet in the right place and help clear around the fairing
Great product, Easy to install and your feet stay planted and don't slide off.
Got this last year and used it on our yearly long trip. Keeps bike dry and clean without going to extra trouble of full cover. Priced right. Like it a lot.
I bought the 6 inch flames and put them on the bike for bling. They are absolutely beautiful. You will love them.
These work great ... even over heated grips. Very comfortable.
