Had this hitch on my 2006 Goldwing (I didn't install this one), just installed one on my 2010 Goldwing myself ... it was not as easy as some say. The holes in the H bracket didn't line up ... they were just a bit off. After using a small pry bar to wedge in between the saddlebag frame and the H bracket, I was able to line up the holes and get the bolts started. This is very solid hitch and will give you many years of good use. I pulled an Escapade Elite trailer many thousands of miles with no problems. Very good hitch! I especially like the lock bolt to keep the ball mount from rattling. |

I just installed these on Saturday, 4/23/2011. I discovered that since the center hubs are made of "alloy", they are thicker than the steel hubs of the original. This makes the bolts too short. The bolts end 1/2 way into the nuts; not just through the nuts. It would be nice to have a recommended part number or source to get bolts to replace the factory bolts which are not long enough. I torqued them and used loctite, but not something I want to rely on. So far, they are working well, and no more squealing and glazed spots. |
| So much nicer than the ugly plastic. Near perfect fit, but will fit into position over time. |
| I got the one for the trunk and it was a snap to install. Just measure twice before you drill a hole...... I now need a 1.125" rubber plug to fill a hole |
| I have this luggage rack and love it. Makes the trunk lid looks so good. |
| FINE ADDITION; ALMOST MAKES ME WANT TO KEEP MY FLOORBOARDS DOWN. OF COURSE I PUT ON THE CHROME FRAME COVER ALSO. |
| I PUT THIS ON YESTERDAY AND I AGREE WITH EVERYONE; IT LOOKS GREAT BUT, THE HOLES ON THE LEFT SIDE DON'T MATCH VERY WELL.IT WAS A PAIN AND I ALWAYS WORRY ABOUT CROSS THREADING WHEN GOING IN AT AN ANGLE IT'S NOT A REAL BIG DEAL BUT YOU'D THINK THAT FOR A HUNDRED BUCKS WORTH OF PLASTIC, YOU'D MAKE THE HOLES LINE UP. IS MY GOLDWING DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE REST? BUY THE WAY, FOR THAT HUNDRED COULDN'T YOU GIVE US A LITTLE TUBE OF ANTI-SIEZE INSTEAD OF THAT CHEEZY LITTLE BAG. MAYBE MY WIFE LEAVING AND THE MILK COW BURNING UP WHEN THE BARN BURNED DOWN JUST PUT ME IN A BAD MOOD. YEA I'D BUY THEM AGAIN. |

I also was interested in how these mount. I found the installations online. Hope this helps. https://www.rivcoproducts.com/instructions/download/GL18094%20booklet.pdf |
| EXCELLENT FIT AND GREAT MOTOR PROTECTION. A MUST TO HAVE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR WING. BE CAREFUL AND NO HAND CUTS AT ALL. INSTALL WITHOUT TIGHETEN THE NUTS FIRST, THEN MOVE ALL THE WAY FORWARD AND TIGHT. I USED FOR OVER A MONTH AND IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. BETTER CROSSWING HANDLING NOTED INMEDIATELY. |
| I had a 2006 Gold in color Goldwing ... got these color matched and loved them. I have a 2010 Metallic Titanium Goldwing now and can't find these anywhere that are color matched. What happed to the color matched accessories for our Goldwings! |

Installed with no problems, no cuts, edges not that sharp to be an issue. Removed lower cover nuts, slid the belly pan up on one side, pulled cover out enough to get belly pan over studs, repeated on other side. Push it all the way forward in the slots, install nuts, install front section, easy. Hardest part was getting the protective cover off before install. If you are looking for a belly pan, this is the one. 2009 Navi/XM |
