I had 2 previous Goldwings from my BC (Before Children) days when I rode about 200k over these United States. Both had backrests and they added immensely to my comfort. My ’07 Goldwing provides a much more pleasant seat experience and after several all day runs I didn’t think I would need a backrest. But knowing that I would be doing several long, long runs on my Wing including a 10k 6 week sojourn for the summer of ’11, I knew that I would enjoy a backrest. I have a good friend that recommended the Utopia backrest. From the reviews and pricing, I figured it would work out great. One problem – I didn’t want to cut a hole in my seat. So after reading the reviews and recommendation of one of the Wingstuff staff I opted for the Kuryakyn backrest. Installation – easy and quick. Took about 20 minutes. I had read some of the problems encounter by other reviewers and none of the mentioned obstacles were encountered by me. Once the brackets were installed, the backrest and bracing were easily attached. I followed the directions by Kuryakyn on how to install the backrest and frame on the brackets and encountered no problems whatsoever. Once installed, I found the locking ratchet easily manipulated and could readily adjust the position quite easily. My only concern is that the locking ratchet is so easily unlocked that I just hope no one would remove the backrest from the brackets and walk away with it. As to passenger comfort, I would say that the Utopia would fare better. However after talking with my other half, I found it doubtful that she would ever accompany me on a long distance haul. Maybe a day or so ride, but no further. I could see that the Kury system could possibly interfere with the comfort of the passenger, but as others have noted in the reviews, some are OK with it and others are not. Bottom line if she rides with me and it interferes with her comfort, I can remove it quickly. Overall, I think the Kury backrest will fare well. I am very comfortable with the feel and only time will tell if the unit will hold up under the test of time. |
| Second Baker product I have purchased and again was a little disappointed. They do what they are supposed to do and keep your feet a lot warmer and dryer. The install is literally a snap. No, my disappointment is to do with the colour. I purchased the both leg wings and foot wings from Baker in a dark smoke and they do not match. The leg wings are a brownish tint while the foot wings are a definite grey yet both are supposed to be the same polycarbonate material. Seems there are some QC issues at Baker...... |

REVISED, After some checking on this battery on the Shorai site found this model is for RACE bikes and states " NOT RECOMMENDED for daily road use". It also says for the 2 pound lighter model Cranking speed and lifespan may be reduced. There is only about 2 ( one ) pounds difference between this model and the standard or Heavy Duty ( Duration ) model. This model is the cheapest, The other 2 models are about $100.00 more at Shorai price list. It would be nice if wingstuff offered these models as well. This model is about 30$ less than on the Shorai site. I am going to cancel my standing order for a extra one to carry in my trailer and order the Heavy Duty one and put this light duty one in the trailer as a spare. I will say I am impressed with this battery and it has performed great for the past couple of months, however with pulling a trailer, all the lights, etc. a extra 135 cranking amps and 9 amp hour draw could make a difference for still a little weight. Check out the Shorai web site. So far it appears to be a great battery and if it lasts 2 or 3 times longer, well worth the money. Still give 5 stars |
| Easy install and looks great!! |
| If you have the other chrome radio parts, you need these. |
| I have this and love it. Personally, I have never had a problem with glare. |
| Great product. As one who does not have a garage, I depend on this cover and it does the trick. Now if I can just get the neighbor's cat to quit sleeping on my seat and shedding all over! |
| If ever there is a book you need to get for your Goldwing, this is it! A must have and well worth the money in the long run. You will make your money back after the second oil change. |
| My wife is very excited about these passenger cruise pegs. We have the Transformers and are still used but she has commented that they do not allow her to stretch out her legs & knees. We haven't been a on trip yet but they are coming up soon. Easy to install and look pretty good. The wife & I have sat in the passenger seat and they appear to offer the opportunity to stretch your leg/knee. More to follow after road tes. I did not give 5 stars since we haven't road tested yet and did have to have someone re-tap the treads for the set screw on the left side. Did not want to hassle with sending back, so had a friend re-tap and it works fine now. I would think Kuryakyn should look at their quality control a little better. |
| Well, lasted for about 3 times then quit working. Got a better compressor that fits in my saddle bag. Will stick with the better unit. |

Update: Wingstuff sent me the wiring harness for my 07 it made all the difference in the world. Now Its not only a blinker but its a running light and its brighter. This was so easy to install and wire. I put a photo on my photo album take a look at it. You do not even have to remove your mirror housing. Just peel the black rubber thats around your mirror housing and you well see the orange wire. Orange is on the left side and blue is on the right. For the 07 you have to have the extra harness U7300 I believe. You can pull the wire out just enough to pull them apart. Then connect your harness. Look at photo of the harness connected. PS you have to lift the Tabs to get the connectors apart. I put the chrome on first and took my time in doing so. Once you stick it on it will not move so measure two times and use painters tape for a guide. You can complete this in about 30 minutes. Mine is chrome on chrome and its beautiful. I beleave it will look better on color. More bling. |
| I tried these for the first time on my new tires....they're fantastic! WORK perfectly just like they say they will....they are impossible to get into the tire without breaking the bead though! |
