Very solid, easy to mount, chrome looks good, simple to make adjustments. We like them. While installing I noticed pitting on my fairly new Transformer Passenger Floorboards, which have not been rained on, have been waxed, always kept clean, & are are garage kept. I am concerned about that big time! |
| we bought these to make going from bike to hotel easier. Very well built and work great as long as you do not over pack them. We will for sure use them when we travel with out the bike. Wing Stuff delivered them in just a few days .Great job Wing Stuff. |
| Installed the std version. Very nice shift in HB position, making it easier to reach & lean back into rest. This should make those longer rides less stressful on the back- highly recommend. Although a rather simple install I give 4 due to lack of detailed & clear instruction set. Removed speaker & instru cluster cover (disconnect tweeter wires & grip/ seat heater cable), then removed the 4 bolts to loosen instru & NAV cluster to shove out of way, but no disconn of cables, etc. Then removed forks cover & begin HB removal/ install of risers. Take care in removing & reinstalling all the bolts & screws, as dropping them into the void they may never return ;-), I lost one forks cover screw, ugh! |

I have mixed feelings about this headset. The audio quality is actually pretty good for a set of micro-thin speakers. The headset itself is fine, if somewhat flimsy. The Boom mic is sturdy and solid, but is held in place to the shell by Velcro. This will wear out over time. The wiring is well -constructed, but the wire gauge is somewhat fine; this could lead to internal breakage of the wires if they are moved over time. The connection to the lower cord is a very tight fit. This is fine as it will not fall out, but it can be a bit frustrating sometimes. Additionally, it is not mounted to the helmet in any way; it just hangs out when not connected to the lower cord. Although this looks a bit silly, it can be stuffed into the helmet to be hidden. However, the action of pulling it in and out will weaken the fragile wires over time. Best bet: leave the lower cord hooked up all the time. Kind of negates the concept of a two-piece cord however. You get what you pay for in most cases, and all of the "issues" above are reflective of the low price. Thus, I do not find any real issues with any of the above as being a fault of the headset. If I want something more sturdy, I'll pay more than what I paid for this headset; I chose to go inexpensive! This next issue is my biggest irk with the set, and is the main reason the set gets such a low score form me. The lower cord provided is a curled cord that allows it to stretch when necessary. However, it is woefully too short. Dangerously short, I am inclined to say. A headset cord should travel down the body and up the bike to the connection point. But this cord is so short, it make a direct straight connection from the helmet to the bike connection. This places tension on the helmet, causing an annoying pull on the left side of the helmet. (Or the right side, depending on where you have the cord exit the helmet.) Additionally, since the cord is stretched tightly from the helmet to the bike connection by the fairing, the cord is actually in the way of any handling. Granted, one should keep his or her hands on the handlebars at all times, but sometimes the left hand needs to do something else on the bike. The stretched cord can interfere with this. I contacted IMC to ask how they recommend I resolve this, and they responded with the link below. Wingstuff.com does not carry the extension cord that IMC told me about, unfortunately, so I had to order it directly from IMC. Technically, the extension cord is for sidecar use, but the length of the cord is perfect for what I need; an extra 2 feet of cord for me, the driver, so that the cord will not pull at my head and not be in the way of any hand movements. At the time of this writing, IMC charges $18 per extension, plus shipping and tax. Unfortunately, I feel that this cord should have come with the set, or the cord in the set should be at least two feet longer. I am extremely disgruntled that I had to purchase an extra cord in order to safely use what is supposed to be a "complete set." In summary, anyone wanting to buy this headset will find decent sound quality, with some fragile components because of the low item cost. However, for the driver at least, you will also want to order the extension cord from IMC at the link below unless Wingstuff.com starts carrying it. Perfect fit on my 2012 (airbag model), so it should work with all 2012 models. Super easy to install -- took about 20 minutes from start to finish. On the back side of the pocket, in the right angled corner, I found a little '+' stamped into the plastic, so I assumed this was the location Honda intended for it. |
| Easy to install. Seems to work as advertised. Also installed the "Alternator Ignition Noise Filter for Power Connection" (Item #: WSCSS12) and "Mic Mutes noise eliminator kit" (Item #: MMGL1800) so it's difficult to say which one is to be praised but the 3 together seem to work perfect in eliminating engine, alternator and wind noises. Seems a bit expensive though for a simple audio filter compared to the power filter, so only 4 stars. See my review of the other 2 products under each product. |

| Put it on the bike last night and trust me, it was hard for me to cut a hole in the leather of that Goldwing trike. I used tape to hold the guide in place and I also used a gypsum knife with a 10 inch blade. I few back and forth "Et voila". I have the same one on my Harley and believe me this is the best purchase ever. Very satisfied customer and proud of buying with "Wing stuff. |
| Well I am about 330 and had both the front and rear springs changed. After talking to Progressives support team they advised me to add about 3/8 of an inch to my spacers. That was 380 miles ago and I would do it all over again. Improved my ride and because I am a little heavier rider the plush factor has increase 10 fold. I also had the stem bearings changed but decided not to use a brace. Thumbs up on the springs. |
| I person installation on my 2003, and followed Steven Butland instructions from the download (including loosening the exhaust clamps and removing the bolt holding the exhaust in place - some say they didn't need to do this). Install was fairly simple. Holes lined up fine, but did take a little tweaking. Hint: keep all the bolts real loose until they are all in place. Very solid installation. Took about 3 hours being careful and doing a little cleaning before reassembly. |

Cheap plastic trim. It might end up looking nice once you deburr all the sharp ends inside and around the trim so you don't scratch your paint (which it will). Would look nice if the trim wasn't raised off the mirror housing, because it reveals all the flaws on the end where chrome paint (or whatever that is) isn't present. $42.99 for injection moulded plastic that has sharp edges? What a ripoff. |
