This LED replacement for the OEM spoiler (see my separate review of the spoiler - Item # HO08F64MCA1Y1C) is easy to install – just unscrew and remove the OEM LED unit and replace with this one. You have to reuse some of the OEM hardware. The wires are shorter than the OEM so make sure you route the sub-harness in such a way to give you enough slack to reach the connectors under the trunk lid. Don’t cable-tie them until you’ve completed the wiring. I only received 2 of the 3 installation pages. Page 2 ends with how to route the sub-harness and a reference to a picture on page 3. There is no mention of how to connect the wires to the connectors behind the rear wheel under the license plate so I had to experiment with them until I got it working. The running lights did not work at all. I used the trunk always-on 12V connector as source to provide power to each of the black, white and yellow sub-harness wires to discover that the black is the one for the running LED’s. With the ignition on and using a multimeter I discovered that the black wire was dead. After testing other wires at the bike-side of the 3-point connector on the supplied sub-harness I discovered that the centre black wire is the live one and not the one on the side as supplied. You will need to cut the black wire of the supplied sub-harness and tap it to the black wire in the middle of the socket on the sub-harness side. If you don’t need the running lights then you can leave it as it is. The rest will work as designed. I decided not to connect the running lights as I don’t ride at night. Brake and turning signals are more important to me to stop people from tailgating me. Besides the missing instructions page and having wiring issues, I’m still very happy with the end result. It really makes you more visible to other vehicles. You definitely need this if you tow a trailer. 5 Stars for overall satisfaction but 2 stars off for a waste of my time having to figure out how to connect the wires (and blowing a fuse in the process!). For the price you expect better quality control to ensure correct wiring and full instructions. |

Installing this is not for the faint-hearted. You will be drilling 5 holes in your beautiful trunk lid so make 100% sure you have marked them correctly with the supplied template. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. For best results, start drilling with a small drill and work your way up to the correct size. Use a drill with speed control and drill slowly to prevent paint damage or burring. I also bought the Spoiler Run/Brake/Flashing LED Light replacement (Item# EC01320) and installed it at the same time. See separate review of the EC01320. It took me the whole day to install this and a few other accessories so I cannot say how long it took for only the spoiler. I took my time to make sure I did it correctly. My guess is that it will take about 60-90 min. The result is unbelievable. It completely transforms the hunch-back look from behind into a more complete classy look. It really should be fitted as standard. It is expensive but it is a quality product which is what you would expect from an OEM product. You get what you pay for. I’m very happy with the final results. I would recommend this to anybody. |
| They work good but had to trim them down. Trunk was too hard to open and close. I cut about a 1/16 out or less they work much better |
| Great product.Love the fact that you can put on "as needed". Jaws actually spread far enough to use on the front on my 1989 GL1500. There is a flat part of the handlebar cover, just in front of the clutch fluid reservoir. Puts the holder right at your fingertips. |
| Just had this installed in my helmet when I bought my new Goldwing yesterday, and was dissapointed with the sound quality, was tinny and difficult to hear at 70 MPH, BUT--- I red my owners manual for the 2012 Goldwing, you have to select SRS HP on the audio panel, it is a difference from listening to a ten cent radio to a Bose (just kidding) but the difference is amazing. The dealer failed to tell me about this. I just ordered another one for my wife's helmet. |
| Installed these today, Everything is good,EXCEPT, how in the world do you get the 2 small screws back in the mouse ear cover, Mine are directly under the brackets that holds the LED panel. Do I need to remove that panel, the holes will still be under the brackets, any ideas will be welcome....... |
| ATTENTION 22000 miles on bike no need to change filter looks almost new. i went to goldwingfacts.com seen easy pictures to follow to change filter not as hard as it looked most important thing is to bag and tag the bolts so you can put back in same place. also i wrote each step down as i went a breeze to put back together. you can do it |

I installed them on a warm day without a problem. The provided template worked perfectly and I could drill the holes no problem. I used good old spit as suggested in the instructions and pulled them through with a bit of wiggling. Like Bill and others mentioned, they are just that little bit too high making it difficult to close the lid, even though it was a fairly warm day when I installed them. The remote also did not work every time. I think it would be very difficult to close in winter. So, like some others, I shaved about 2mm off the top with a carpet knife. Perfect! The lid now closes easy enough with a backward and down pull on the backrest of the seat. The remote now works without a problem. It still remains to be seen if there will be any water leaks when riding in the rain. Will have to wait for the winter to find out. 4 Stars only because I think they are just that little bit too high and this view is shared by many other reviewers. I’m happy with the end result. |
| Received this, great product. Wife and I enjoy how easy it is to load the music and get onto the bike and go go go. Got this durnig cyber monday sale with the player. Great deal and savings. Can not go wrong with this. Thanks Wingstuff. |
| Bought this based off the reviews. Easy to install. Friend wanted to help, over torque one of the nuts back on snapping it off the threads so be careful. He was only wanting to help, accidents happen. Not sure how I am going to replace that thread and bolt. I took care of the others using lock tight, good to go, should hold nicely in place without vibration. Construction well made, yes will cut your hands just right if you’re not careful, head the warnings and wear some gloves. Have not taking it out to see what the other reviews have mentioned with wind draft reduction. Looking forward to the added protection it brings. I am thankful that I have not had any misfortunes without it before with flying debris hitting the vital organs. I feel much safer with it on now giving that added protection. Great buy, you won’t be disappointed with this. |
| I am on my second set of Cobra's. I have tried Dunlop's and Bridgestones. I will always choose Avon Cobra's for my Wing if i have that choice. They make me feel very confident on just about any road surface. I know everyone has his own opinion on things like this and thats mine. I will take the Cobras any day of the week. |
| Installed these three days ago. Weather here was extremely windy, what a great time to test this product; worked like a charm. It did what it was supposed to do. Easy to install. Looks great on my bike. |
