As the description says the edges are very sharp.....By the time I finished the install I had two cuts on my fingers. Very easy to install. Just wear a pair of gloves. Cant say that I can tell a difference in handling, but I am sure it will protect the underside of the bike as advertised.

I recently purchased a trailer for my 2010 Airbag model and needed to install a hitch so I could pick it up. After considering several lower cost options, I decided on the Bushtec primarily for two reasons; 1) the hitch’s design and construction and the way it mounts to the frame and sub-frame, and 2) no modifications are required for it to work with and airbag model. I looked at other hitches and most had disclaimers about airbag models.
I placed my order for the Bushtec hitch, and while I was waiting for it to arrive I searched on-line to find the "tips and tricks" of the installation. I found several useful hints and warnings which helped me prepare for and avoid some of the challenges with the installation - mostly about the tight spots and areas to avoid pinching wires.
I planned for a three hour installation so that I wouldn't feel rushed and frustrated. It took me about 2 1/2 hours overall, including putting my tools away.
Next step was picking up the trailer, which was the impetus for what was planned to be a 2500 mile touring vacation for my wife and I. I picked up the trailer and about 1,000 miles later we were rear- ended while driving in heavy traffic. The trailer and the Bushtec hitch absorbed the bulk of the impact, and the crash destroyed both, saving the bike from more damage. If I had a lesser hitch, I believe my bike would have suffered more than it did.
So, I'm having my second Bushtec hitch installed by the dealer doing the repairs. And I'm sure that it will service me long into the future.

ITEM: WSRACKBAG

09.16.2012
This seems to be a good bag but it is just too big for the GL1800. The floor of the bag has not been designed to wrap around the back rest and therefore the bag sticks out past the back of the rack. The cacpacity of this bag is huge for a rack bag and if this bag is filled the weight of the bag will not allow the trunk lid to be opened with the bag installed. It will require the bag to be either removed or emptied to get into the trunk.

Kuryakyn Chrome Floorboards w/Heel Shifter
ITEM CODE: KU4038,   SKU: KU4038

Installed these a couple months ago. At first I wanted to send them back, just didn't feel right. What I found is that on long rides the extra movement is fantastic. I still prefer the pegs if I'm doing the winding back roads of KY. But overall exspecially for touring they are a must have.

Kuryakyn Passenger Transformer Floorboards for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7006,   SKU: KU7006

This is extremely well made and I like the fact that it no longer requires any parts from your old passenger boards. My wife says that she also likes it better as it positions her knees differently and allows her to stretch. Thanks WingStuff for working with me on this purchase.

I like the size for the front as it is not too big. I especially like the ability to quickly remove it so that the front is clear.

Centramatic Stainless Wheel Balancers for GL1800
ITEM CODE: CTMGW100-102,   SKU: CTMGW100-102

I have 25k mi on 2010 GL1800, 9k on my third set of tires (Avon Cobras- excellent performance), D250's OEM (good) & second set were E3s (worst) and I must say the Centra balancers, installed them today absolutely improved handling, reduced cornering hum, & made the bike feel more 'connected' to the road! They also reduced low speed wobble. the Avons were beginning to cup (as all sets have) & will be anxious to see if their life is extended post install. Install took me ~ 1.5 hrs performed all while on center stand. I reluctantly removed the wheel weights too, not being sure what to expect. No question Centras will pay for themselves in tire savings in short order. Std OEM suspension, but plan to add traxxion dynamics suspension front & rear at a future date.

Initially I wasn't going to add these to the trunk but changed my mind. I am glad I did. They really add a nice touch and flow with the saddle bag LEDs. They are also turn in addition to run lights so that only adds to their value. Great quality and easy installation. I agree with james that the wiring needs to be flat. The only problem I had with the install is that it appears Kury got the left and right mixed up on the instructions. It is pretty obvious which one goes on which side but sitting on the bike, it seems as though they were calling left right. Anyway, if I figured it out, anyone can.
5 stars for a great product and a 1 star deduction for trying to confuse me with the instructions...lol

Bridgestone Tire COMBO for GL1800 G704/G709
ITEM CODE: WSBRCOMBO,   SKU: WSBRCOMBO

21,400 miles on last set (yeah, probably should have been swapped a couple thousand earlier). but these tires wore extremely evenly. Hint Hint Hint: Runs these boys hard - Minimum 38# front and 40# rear. Check pressures regularly (cold, of course). Running even 2-4# low will chew these tires up, and cause uneven wear.
