We purchased the item for future additions. We were installing other things and figured may as well knock this one out since we already had the seat off. Had the same trouble as others, finding the darn connection. It was in the same area that the instructions said but... it was under another set of wires under the lip of the bike frame. As others have said, keep digging and you will find it. Was about to give up when out of frustration, I dug deep and there it was. Once that was located the rest was a breeze. Look forward to future additions going much faster now that I have this. |
I have to agree with others on the installation. The arm rests are made of top quality material but I was not impressed with the the way these mount. The mounting brackets are not shaped to the seat back and trunk as I believe they should be. Thus once the stock seat is re-installed there is a small cap. RIVCO provides a foam close out to fill the gap and it stays put just fine, but I still think that the foam was an after thought. This is why I gave them only 4 stars. Installation was straight forward, but you do have to do some drilling, so measure at least twice to make sure your holes will be where you want them and both sides are aligned. Otherwise you might have one armrest slightly higher than the other. As far as the armrests go, they work perfectly. The Mrs. is very happy with them, and they travel well in the up or down position.

Work good with any ear bub. You just have to find a good pair of ear buds that provide good sound and will stay put in your ears. Will update once I have found them.
These little shims made such a change in ride position it is hard to believe. As one reviewer put it "cozy riding position" I would have to agree. The installation should take about 45 minutes however mine took almost 3 hours due to dropping a screw and it disappeared down into the bike. Which I had to disassemble the fairing before I could retrieve it with a magnet. Therefore be very careful with the screws and you will be done in no time.
We were on a two lane country highway on a 3000 mile trip and 200 miles from our next waypoint when my buddy got a flat on the brand new rear tire on his Victory. We removed the nail that caused the flat and used this kit to plug the hole. It seemed like each CO2 cartridge provided ten pounds of pressure. There were four cartridges in the kit, but we used only two. We had difficulty attaching each cartridge and the small hose to the valve stem without causing loss of tire pressure, but, maybe there is a technique I missed in the instructions. We also used a small dc tire pump I always carried, but it seemed to surrender at about twenty pounds in the tire. Fortunately, we were only a few miles from the next gas station which had an air compressor where we were able to top off the pressure. The plug did its job and held for the necessary 400 miles to the next Victory dealer where we were able to get a new tire installed. A word of caution: The shop showed us the inside of the tire wall which had been severely damaged by the rim caused by riding on the tire the small distance when it was first going flat. This could have led to a worst case scenario, a blowout. I have already replaced the two used CO2 cartridges, so that I have a minimum of four in the kit. I will also replace the inadequate dc pump I have been carrying for several years. Based on this experience, I believe a powerful backup pump is necessary. I highly recommend watching the YouTube video on how to use this system when you first receive it and make sure you keep the printed instructions in the kit. We read them and followed them step by step. This system seems complicated at first, but, once you use it on the side of the road, you will understand and appreciate the engineering of the system. I would also recommend having a towel to lie on. It makes the job much more tolerable. You will also need pliers which you should have in your bike's tool kit and a pressure gauge is also handy. I highly recommend this product.
This are not an easy install (hence the 4 star's) but if you take your time it can be done. Took me nearly 4.5 hours to install. As other reviews stated the "B" template is definitely incorrect. I am glad I read all the reviews first and knew about the template issue as it saved me from drilling a hole in my trunk in the wrong spot. Once I got these installed they do look stock. I am sure that when I have a passenger in this spot they will be happy with the arm rests as well.
I usually wear a Large, that's what I ordered and it fit fine. Nice jacket to take along on a summer ride if the weather gets cool.
I looked at several options to get a larger diameter hand grip. Reading the reviews lead me to these as I didn't want to affect my heated grips. These were easy to install with a bit of soapy water, they slid on with ease. Will have to wait for cold weather to see if the heat value is truly affected or not but during the test the heat seems to be Good from the heated grips.
Awesome look, easy to install and reasonable price. I love the static look as well as the running lights. Looks even better combined with the smoke lens fender tip.
This fender tip is awesome, the installation was a breeze. The smoke lense gives you a great look when your riding (bright red LED's)and a great static look as well without adding chrome. If you like lights but don't like chrome these are a must.

I bought the Shorai LFX18L1-BS12 (270 CCA) for my 2006 Gold Wing from Wingstuff in May, 2011, for $159.29. I was very impressed with the battery and loved how I never had to worry about finding a dead bike due to battery failure. However after accidently leaving a light on the bike for a couple days, I went out to find the battery totally discharged. I put the charger on the battery and brought it back up to 113.2 volts. However after removing the charger the battery would drop back to 110.1 volts within a very short time and remain there. The battery manual warned that a total discharge of the battery might damage it to the point of no recovery, which it had. After reading the original warranty I noticed that an "over-discharge (i.e. resting voltage allowed to fall below 12.8V/6.4V for LFX 12V/6V types) might void the warranty, but if not so the warranty for a battery in it's 25th month would be prorated at 25% off MSRP. Since the MSRP was $189.95, I would need to pay $142.46 to get a warranty replacement. However, just to see how they would handle it, I sent a warranty request to Shorai, including the information of the total discharge. To my surprise they promptly responded that not only were they honoring the warranty, but that they were upgrading me 2 levels to the LFX27L3-BS12, a 405 CCA battery. The MSRP on the upgrade was $275 and the Wingstuff price was $234. However they were just charging me $86 for the warranty exchange. Plus, they shipped the replacement out to me the same day, without my having to first send in my defective battery. So my review of the Shorai batteries are that they are great products that should give you years of use but that the Shorai customer service is even fantastic by itself. |
