What a difference it made on my ride to work in the mornings. Lights up the roadside great. Definitely glad I sprung for these. Installation took just under 2 hours, from start to finish. Fishing the connector out, for the switch install, was the most time consuming part of the project.
I just put these on my 08 and they look AWESOME. Yes, they're a little pricey, but there is no comparison to the plastic variety. A coworker has a 2010, outfitted with the the plastic ones, and he immediately asked what brand mine are......said he was replacing his with the same.
My wife and I each have a 2013 Gold Wing purchased in January, 2013. BOTH of us have experienced punctured coolant overflow tanks in the first year of ownership. I knew this could be an issue, but was originally talked out of getting the belly pan by a friend who never had a problem. The punctured tanks were discovered during a routine maintenance check in September. The service manager said it was a comical sight when the technician came in all wide eyed and said "You are not going to believe this, but both have punctured tanks." At $100 each to replace, I was kicking myself for not trusting my instincts...so if you don't believe it can happen to you, think again. Money well spent I say. Oh, and both bikes had front fender extensions fitted at time of purchase.

Ok, I got the the F-2 (Tinted) windshield about two weeks ago. Installation is a snap, although the directions leave a little to be desired. I strongly recommend watching the U-Tube video from Cruiseman, it is better than the one on here. I ordered the F-2 instead of the F-4 because I thought I wanted a little more protection on the interstates, but I still like to feel the wind when riding the back roads. I’m 6-1 and with the F-2 all the way down, I look straight into the upper lip of the windshield. You can really feel the difference of the larger windshield at highway speeds, I will miss the ability to look over the windshield on the back roads. The clarity is absolutely awesome and I really like the fact that you can clean the shield with glass cleaner. I have a 2008 titanium 1800 and the tinted shield looks awesome with bike paint. If you get the tinted shield be aware that you will give up a little visibility at night. Over all I give the windshield a 5…… Great Clarity, Easy Care, Great Appearance, and the current sale price is great. Keep it Between the Ditches. |
I installed these on 4/4/2013. I now have approx 4000 miles on the tubes, new fluid and seals. The ride is EXCELLENT. It handles like it was new again and it sits just like I bought in 2009 when I use the side stand. I put the fork tubes in the original place in the triple tree and i used one shim per the instructions. I weigh 153# bare a.. naked and with all my gear on and all the crap i take work, the combined weight is approx 180# (+/- say 5#). I am 5' 6" with an inseam of 29". Yes I tippy toe at stop lights and stop signs. The ride is a bit rough but i attribute this to my o.c.d. of me setting higher tire pressures than recommended. It handles far better than when the bike was new with the oem springs but then I was coming off of a 1990 Honda Pacific Coast 800 that had an upgrade of just the Progressive springs that I rode for 13 years. It handles so good now, I can scrape my engine and saddle bag guards and center stand on turns. I did this with the oem springs to but the lean angle is far more now than before. Big or small bumps and rough roads are so much smoother now to. Railroad tracks are smoother along with cattle crossings. Freeway ride has really improved by being silky smooth, it doesn't matter if the road surface is rough either. The new tubes just soak it up. I highly recommend this as a alternative to the $1500+ upgrade, which I can't remember the name right now.
So far so good. I have a little over 14000 on the front and rear Dunlop E3's. I am not an overly aggressive rider but I occasionally like to turn the wick up. I brought my 09 wing in to a retired tire installer. He never heard of centramatics and reluctantly mounted my tires without weights. My traditional way of thinking caused me to be skeptical also. Now as I prepare for storage, I am impressed with the even tire wear and the amount of tread remaining on the E3's. I plan on an east coast trip before i change tires next year. I do not pay attention to the bearing 'swish ' at low speeds like some writers. I will recommend this product and thank those before me who wrote accurate reviews. Without these riders I would never have purchased these balancers. I am glad I did.
This was a very easy install. Everyone was correct, be careful not to drop the mirror. The wind difference around the hands and body makes this a must have item.

Well, I'm back on the market for another battery for my GL1800. I purchased this exact battery on 5/2010, faithfully maintained it using a 12V battery tender after each ride when stored in my garage. Now it is barely reading a 40% crank charge on my battery bug (advanced CrankCheck technology tests battery health every time the engine is started). I was hoping to make the 5 year club like many others have reported using their battery, but I cannot take a chance that it will not be able to start my cycle when I'm on a trip. For the price, I was expecting several more years of service, especially with my frequent use of a battery tender after each ride. I guess it's time to step up to a Lithium model. |
Lights look awesome on the black FB6! :-) looking forward to putting the tail tip on!
I have a 2013 Goldwing, the first time I took my wife out she complained about the wind hitting her in the face, she was so uncomfortable she said she couldn't ride on the back, my wife has her own bike and I believed her when she said the wind was bad. I was determined to get this fixed. I ordered all three of the New Generation Air Wings, install was easy for the Dual Air Wings after taping the template in place and actually hitting the bolts underneath the trim piece the first time, I then trusted the provided template and drilled the rest of the holes. The hand wings and foot Wings are a piece of cake to install. I was a little nervous the first time I took her out, but she said the wind was cut down by 80% and was no worse then when she rides her own bike. You need to remember, you are still riding a motorcycle so some wind is to be expected. So, if you want to make the passenger on your bike much more comfortable, get these. As far as shipping is concerned, I originally ordered these online with chrome hardware and decided to call them and change my order to black hardware, the hand wings showed up in about three days and I had to call wing stuff to get the other two pieces delivered, I don't know what happened but it took almost two weeks from the time I placed my order and received the last two Air Wings.
Bought this two weeks ago finally installed the isolator and works just as advertised. Thank you reviewers for your comments really me make the right decision to buy this product! Great product J&M and Thank you Wing Stuff for the timely delivery!
...This would have to be it. Because I have a tendency to slouch in the seat, before I installed this backrest, my lower back would be aching in no time. No more! This is a great looking, great fitting, well crafted solution that could easily pass for a factory item. The install was a little tedious but not difficult. Highly recommended.
