Factory OEM LED Lighted Trunk Spoiler for GL1800 1st Gen
ITEM CODE: PG00029

08.17.2011
The spoiler was easy to install - I used directions from various Goldwing forums. I've always wanted this on my other wings! It came fairly quickly even though Wingstuff didn't have it in stock. I used the template just to be sure, but there are actually very little marks on the inside trunk lid that mark where the holes go (3 on the left & only 2 on the right). Use sharp drill bits, search for specific directions, take your time & know what you are going to do before you do it. I installed a Kisan Tailblazer also (also an easy install - almost literally plug-and-play).

Lighted LED Red Lens Trunk Molding for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU3201,   SKU: KU3201

08.12.2011
I bought both the saddlebag and truck sets. I am a novice at installing anything, but gained some confidence installing the F4 windshield. Be sure on these to read the instructions thoroughly, watch the video a couple times and read posts about installation both here and on other forums (unless you are experienced at installation/modification).

For a beginner, I would call this install easy for the trunk and moderate for the saddlebags. The instructions, both video & written) could be more clear and more detailed. For example, on the trunk set, the instructions say "remove the rear fender per the shop manual". And the video just shows it on, then off. I don't have a shop manual yet. I took out the four obvious hex screws as well as the license plate bracket & the piece still would not come off. So I Googled it and came up with an answer from justanswer.com/motorcycle that read to use a screwdriver (with a cloth over it) and carefully pry the piece off. That worked very well & I was back on my way. The saddlebag lights involve drilling holes & splicing wires, so they were more time-consuming & involved. If there was a wing shop nearby I probably would have paid $75.-$80. to have the saddlebag lights installed. But I managed to do it myself & everything works fine.

These pieces are chromed plastic, so be very careful screwing in the screws. I followed the advice of one user who pre-inserted the screws into the plastic before installing. None of mine cracked, but take it slow & easy.

I took my time on the install. The trunk involved "dropping" the bottom plastic piece of the trunk, which wasn't difficult, but I just took it off. While I had the two pieces off (trunk lower painted piece & rear fender), I cleaned them, polished them & put 3 coats of good-quality wax on them prior to re-installing.

These lights really light up the bike at night. They look VERY nice. I bought them mainly as a safety feature, but they are also very attractive.

I'm only about a 45 minute drive from Wingstuff, so the order arrived within 2 days.

Now I have even more confidence to tackle more installations on my own, and saving about $300. in labor charges, so far. The total installation took me about 3-4 hours, but I went real slow & I have the time. It was FUN!

F4 Scratch Resistant Clear or Tinted Windshields for GL1800
ITEM CODE: PG20048

08.10.2011
Based on reviews here and recommendations from others, I purchased this when I bought my wing from Wingstuff. They didn't have it in stock, so it was dropp-shipped to me. It arrived yesterday, and thanks to the detailed videos, written instructions (2 sets included) with photos, and comments from forums, I was able to install this windshield myself. If I can do it, ANYONE can. My wife, who has virtually no experience with motorcycles, said that after watching the video she felt she could do the install. Be SURE to use the rag to prevent the nut from dropping into "the abyss". Those nuts seem to be attracted to the open areas.

The windshield arrived in excellent condition, with both foam padding and a protective plastic layer on the shield.

The most impressive part of this windshield is the clarity. It is optically very close to glass or high-end plastic such as that used for eyeglasses. I can see clearer through it than any other windshield I've ever had on a motorcycle.

The second most impressive is the cleaning. It cleans better with Windex and paper towels than it does with the microfiber I used.

This is a classic case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. In my not-so-humble-opinion, the F4 is easily worth the difference in price! Apparently they really know what the term "customer service" means too (see rating below mine), which seems rare these days.

Kuryakyn Passenger Transformer Floorboards for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7006,   SKU: KU7006

08.10.2011
I bought these for my wife, even though she has never ridden yet on the wing. As far as I can tell, Kuryakyn has changed these to where all you do is take off the old ones and put on the new ones. I installed these start-to-finish in about 10 minutes, using a metric hex wrench I bought at Harbor Freight & a rubber mallet hammer. Not even a video needed & if I can do it, ANYONE can!

These are a LOT heavier than the OEMs, which are aluminum and plastic that looks like aluminum. I'm not necessarily into chrome, but these sure do look nice! And I KNOW my honey will love them! It helped justify the Kury saddlebag and trunks lights I bought with it.

Nice product!

Performance Stainless Belly Pan
ITEM CODE: WS187416,   SKU: WS187416

08.01.2011
Based on reviews I decided this was a must-have, so I had it installed by Wingstuff before I picked up my new (to me) bike from them. It's a protective, preventative device that I'm confident was an excellent, as well as inexpensive, investment.

Kuryakyn Armrest w/ Drink Holder for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU8991,   SKU: KU8991

08.01.2011
I had these installed by Wingstuff & purchased the Kury ones at their recommendation. They are very good quality & I'm confident my honey will love them when I'm comfortable enough with my new bike to put her on it. I like the cup holder, as it folds up and slides underneath the right armrest.

You do have to pull them out to open the trunk, but I knew this going in and elected not to purchase the other ones that fold up instead of out.
