Michelin Road W GT Tire COMBO for GL1800

So I thought I'd wait till I put some miles on these new Road W GT tires before I reviewed them. I mounted them the end of June on my '14 GL and have put about 7500 miles on them. 4000 of that was pulling a 500lb Roll-A-Home from Idaho to Arkansas. (with about 80lbs on the tongue) The rear new had 10/32nds of tread and the front had 7/32nds. They seem to handle the curves real well. But if you've got on a grooved freeway, they didn't like that very well at all. The bike would move around somewhat, a lot like the turbulence you experience behind a semi. So ya, even worse if its grooved and your behind said semi. After 7500 miles I still have 4-5/32nds tread (depending on where you measure) on the rear and about 5/32nds on the front. But like I said most of that is pulling a trailer. So at that rate I should get 18,000 out of the front and maybe 12,000 out of the rear if I don't pull the caboose on any more long trips. That is wearing them down to 2/32nds. Before this I rode to Pennsylvania back in June on a set of new BRIDGESTONE'S, 9,000 miles total, and got home with cords showing on the rear (whew...) and about 2/32nds remaining on the front. So I'm gonna say I'm going to get about 25% better tread life on the rear and maybe 40-50% better on the front. As I recall Michelin claimed 25% better life out of this tire. Ya, they are a little more money for a set and you don't get the rebate card, like from Bridgestone. But so far I'm happy. Oh ya, and they did feel pretty sure footed in the rain. So you choose...

I only gave it four stars because I didn’t like the way it mounts. The pic makes you think it will hug the wall of the trunk. Actually it’s about an inch or so away. So when you put gloves, polish cloths or whatever else in it it’s kinda in the way. But at least all your stuff isn’t all over the trunk.

I bought these because of the rebate. I’ve done this probably for five or six years. I always loved how they felt on the bike, especially when new. But I only give four stars because of the mileage I get .

Mini Arms for Ergo II Highway Footpegs

Well yes they do fit but the mounting bolt to the mount on the engine guard is different. So I had to go get a couple of 1/2 x 2 inch bolts and nuts to put them together. But I need to figure out a way to hold the nut inside the outside engine guard mounting piece so that I can put all four of those small hex bolts in. Other wise I put the arm on the piece but then I couldn't get one of the small bolts in.
With these arms and my Kuryakyn Seat (Mustang) my seating position allows my lower legs to be under my windwings. Much like a recliner. Not sure if I need some handlebar risers, I'll have to ride it a while to find out.
