Great add-on. Easy install. The only thing I would change would be the red illumination. Make it white |

After having this meter now for a few days I decided that it was a bad match for the bike. Just dosn't match any of the other instruments on the wing. Not even close.Never did install it. Plugged it in and looked at it. Disappointing. |

Don't like it at all. I guess I did not realize it was a marine unit. Could not get the light to function. It could have been a defective unit. I bought a car volt meter locally. It was a breeze to install in the exact hole I drilled for the marine unit. Looks great. Displeased with the Honda marine meter. |

Decided to change my comments on this item. After a bit of research seems that Honda only make a marine version of this volt meter. Guess it's never been intended for the wing but as I said a Volt Meter is a volt meter is a volt meter. Guess I will be keeping it and installing it. By the way that's why the backlight is red and not white like all the other meters on the bike.Lesson learned here is "ask more questions". |

I received my Volt Meter today. Not realy sure what to think of it. This is not a "GoldWing Hondaline Waterproof Volt Meter". The item I received is a volt meter but the package calls it a "Honda Marine Fog Free (by teleflex Inc)" Hmmm...dosen't even look the same.I realize that a volt meter is a volt meter is a volt meter......but the instructions don't even mention the words "GoldWing". Very disappointing. Guess I will be contacting WingStuff about a return. |

Works great, looks very nice and gives a little extra peace of mind. The installation was pretty easy, and as stress-free as drilling a large hole in your bike can be! I too had difficulty locating the connector. It was tucked under the shelter to the left of the fairing pocket. I needed to re-route the coolant overflow line - seems OK though. |

When I recieved mine it was missing the harness plug in, so I had to run wires to the battery, which wasen't to bad. Looks like it was factory installed. I like the red light at night. Nice to know what is going on with your charging system. |

Installation was a breeze. Took some minor re-routing of coolant return line from right radiator. |

Before ordering, I pulled the right fairing panel off of my 2008 Goldwing to look for the red power plug. As others before me have stated, the plug is just to the left of the white plug in a rubber boot and is easily accessible. THERE IS NO NEED TO RUN WIRE. The only parts that need to be removed when installing are the trim molding and the panel. |

This is an excellent well-made meter! Easy to see day or night... the red backlighting is kind of cool! CAUTION: If you are drilling your own hole in the panel and you want the meter centered properly DO NOT drill on the cross-hair markings that are on the back of the panel! If you do the meter will be too far to the left and the edge of the meter will rest against the lip of the recessed part of the panel and not rest flush against the panel. I did this and ended up using a file to widen the hole slightly to the right and managed to make it work, but the meter is not quite centered in the square recessed portion of the panel. It doesn't bother me at all, but it might cause consternation to some folks. I have a 2006 Wing and had a difficult time finding the power connector. I finally found it after taking the top cover off! When I installed my CB last year I tucked the plug under a restraining hook below the top cover! Once I found it plugging the meter in was a piece of cake. The plug is a red connector inside a rubber boot. It's there, but you may have to hunt for it! Hondaline voltmeter $52... added peace of mind by being able to monitor the alternator output... pricesless! |

Great gauge to have - located power plug up above right vent near speaker - also comes with an additional plug wired in for heated grips (hondaline - if installed)- either way you buy, it will be a great addition and as it has been said before, should have already been on the bike from Honda. |

This is a fine instrument that looks like it belongs on the bike. Unfortunately, if you own a 2006-2008 Gold wing, there is NO POWER plug anywhere near the right fairing pocket. I improvised. I ran an 18 gauge wire pair from the accessory terminal on the fuse box, across the top of the gas tank, and up the right hand frame spar under the fairing shelter into the right pocket area. I electrical taped the entire length, and tiewrapped the excess. My run was approximately 6 foot long Maybe about 5 foot 8 inches or so. It was the perfect length and left you about a foot extra so you can remove the volt meter panel without undoing the wiring. The meter works great and is back lighted. My bike runs about 13.8 - 14.2 volts. It's nice to see what kind of load goes on when the cooling fans kick on or you are running the fog lights. A very useful gauge to keep an eye on your charging system. I got stranded on the side of the road on my 1500 when the alternator brushes stuck. I didn't have a clue what was happening until the bike died and there I was. It's much better to be safe, then sorry. I highly recommend getting one of these meters. |
