WOW....after 121,780 miles I have tried just about all the tires that are made and by far...the Avon Cobras ,regular front and the 70 series rear are well all I can say is "FANTASTIC"..They are smooth as a babies butttt, and very silent...the grip of thease tires are about the best ever, and I noticed it immediately...If I could give the tires a six star rating ,I would.. |

AWESOME, I was always nervous with the d250, i felt it give to many times. Last summer I ran over a nail and replaced the rear with the Cobra and love it. My wife said I hit it on purpose, I didn't but knowing what I do now I would have the day I bought it. can;t wait to replace the front this summer. It makes it feel like a sport bike, unbelievable grip in the twisties. My wife even noticed the difference when I started draggin the pegs with her on the back. |

I purchased the Avon Cobra tires (700 series for rear) back on November 12 and I wanted to put some miles on both tires before writing a review. As a rule, new tires always feel great, but the true test is the "run in" to see how the tires perform in all weather and road conditions over time. The very first thing I noticed with the Cobra's was the lack of vibration you feel in the handlebars and the shake noticed in the side mirrors... ALL GONE! Now with 6,400 miles on the Cobra's, my 1800 still rides smoother then any tire I've used previously. I've done the Dunlop, Bridgestone and Metzeler tires and none of them ride nearly as smooth as the Avon's. At 6,400 miles, I still haven't developed the "hum" while leaning that I've experienced with the other brands I've mentioned, time (and miles) will tell. I ride my Goldwing hard in the twisties and I'm confident with the grip. The Bridgestone tires have a slight edge for wet riding conditions and hot tar strips only because Bridgestone's have a softer compound, but they wear out to quickly for my taste. As stated previously, time and miles will be the true test, so far they deserve the 5 star rating for a smooth ride and no humming, which competes with my music. I still have a lot of tread to go. Dave in the service department at Wingstuff hooked me up with a new 70 series cobra rear tire. These are smooth and quite. Had a chance to ride in the rain and the grip was good. So far very happy with the tire. We will have to see how long it lasts. I will keep you posted |
