Centramatic Stainless Wheel Balancers for GL1800
ITEM CODE: CTMGW100-102,   SKU: CTMGW100-102

10.12.2009
The first thing I have to say is "Watch your speedometer after having the Centramatic wheel balancers installed folks." My 'sense of touch' was knocked out of whack from the smooth ride. When I thought I was doing 70 MPH on the freeway, I was actually moving along at 90, that's when my sense of sight took over, realizing I was going faster then everyone else, that's when I looked down at the speedometer. After I set my cruise control, about twenty minutes later I looked down at my hands on the grips and realized I had a totally relaxed hold on the handlebars with my fingers just resting on the grips. As for the twisties, the tracking is "smooth as silk."

I have read hundreds of reviews from various Goldwing Forums and nothing negative was said about the handling characteristics of the Centramatic balancers. A few have said they're ugly, but once they're installed, you have to know what you're looking for. They don't call attention to themselves and that's just fine with me.

Wingstuff has the best price on the Centramtic's and use their service department, they're extremely friendly and professional. Once again Wingstuff and Centramatic's has my five stars. Anyone who has further questions, go to https://wingridersboard.com/forum/ and my user name is ekurtike. Send me a PM.

Avon Cobra Chrome Radial Tires for GL1800
ITEM CODE: PG23038

02.24.2009
I purchased the Avon Cobra tires (700 series for rear) back on November 12 and I wanted to put some miles on both tires before writing a review. As a rule, new tires always feel great, but the true test is the "run in" to see how the tires perform in all weather and road conditions over time. The very first thing I noticed with the Cobra's was the lack of vibration you feel in the handlebars and the shake noticed in the side mirrors... ALL GONE! Now with 6,400 miles on the Cobra's, my 1800 still rides smoother then any tire I've used previously. I've done the Dunlop, Bridgestone and Metzeler tires and none of them ride nearly as smooth as the Avon's. At 6,400 miles, I still haven't developed the "hum" while leaning that I've experienced with the other brands I've mentioned, time (and miles) will tell. I ride my Goldwing hard in the twisties and I'm confident with the grip. The Bridgestone tires have a slight edge for wet riding conditions and hot tar strips only because Bridgestone's have a softer compound, but they wear out to quickly for my taste.

As stated previously, time and miles will be the true test, so far they deserve the 5 star rating for a smooth ride and no humming, which competes with my music. I still have a lot of tread to go.

ITEM: KU4453

06.03.2007
Did I receive a defective set of ISO pegs? When installing them, I noticed only one pre-drilled hole for the Allen set screw, which would have put the pegs at a steep angle, not suitable for riding. I had to have a friend with a drill press drill new holes for the set screw for the pegs to have the proper angle. Very poor design or quality control from Kuryakyn. Also, my Kury highway boards are pitted and peeling...POOR!
