This has been the best set of tires on my bike so far. Will be changing them out at 22,000 miles which is the best mileage I got on any set of tires. I do have the dyna beads in them and maybe that is why. They do have a noise in a lean since they are getting wore. I'm ordering a new set now. |

I have a serious question for all people here. I am looking to purchase new tires for my 2008 GL1800. I was not impressed with the OEM Dunlop Elite 3's. Living in Ohio the Dunlop’s always seemed to slip a little on rain slicked roads (I'm not an aggressive rider). I like the Avon reviews here on wingstuff, but I have to ask a couple of questions ... Question #1: Has anyone here had any experience with installing a "car" tire on the rear of their wing? I have seen some mixed reviews and have zero personal experience with this concept. Question #2: I will be moving to the Mesa, Arizona area next year. Will the excessive heat on the Arizona desert require a different tire consideration? It’s almost riding weather here in Ohio! :o) |

Well, since my last post in May 2010 I just passed 10K on the Avons. I'm still very happy with them. Lots of tread left and still stick like glue. Haven't had any cupping or delamination issues at all as stated by others. I really believe the reason is the dynamic balancers I put on when these were new. So they've paid for themselves. A little noisy in the corners now but a small price to pay for the work I'm putting these through. |

I've had there tires for about 6 months and about 5000 miles later and I think they are great. No cupping and no wobble. I used Metzlers and Dunlops and found these to be the best so far. Would buy again |

this an update on the Cobras, I removed my rear tire it was COMPLETLY DELAMINATED on the inside. don't I'll ever use Avon again!!! tried a 70 series rear Stone, will see how this tire wear's?? also changed the steering head bearings to All-Balls, that cured the "infamous front end wobble" |

These tires are fantastic!! A huge improvement over stock. The bike rides smother, tracks way better, and handles like a dream I come from a sportbike background so handling is key to me. These tires lean in with ease stick like glue and ride way smoother than stock. No noise from the tire and wear seems great so far. I only have 3,000 miles on them but I see no discernable signs of wear yet. Buy these tires you will like them. As for the guy with the loaded trailer that had a blowout I have a sneaking suspicion that the bike may have been overloaded in which case this could have happened to any tire. These tires are incredible and anyone that cannot notice the difference between these and stock must not know how to ride very well. Buy AND enjoy! |

I bought a set of Avon tires and they were the worst tires I have ever had. They wore very uneven and I had to replace them after just 8000 miles. I tried to get Some help on the replacement cost but no luck. I think I'll just stick to dunlops, Steve. |

Installed a new set of Cobras on different Wings, my 04 & my friends 05, prior to going to Sturgis this year. 5500 mi later both rear tires where severly cupped & out of round. we both used Dyna-Beads 2 oz in each wheel. I developed a terrible wobble @ 6k mi, bear in mind we rode mostly hi-way, 2 up, I towed my Bushtec Turbo. the pressure was maintained @ 41-42 psi in the rear tires. just orderd a rear Bridgestone 70 series rear. will you posted on the Stones, we are not aggresive riders. this is the 2nd set of Cobras that cupped. BTW, the front tires are like new, no cupping, neither bike has any suspension mods, pure stock. once I have the rear Cobra dis-mounted I w/ CAREFULLY check for delamination on the inside of the tire, I will then proceed from there. |

I guess I have finally found a really good tire. A very sharp handling tire and loves the curves. My bike is equipped with upgrade suspension and centramatics. The tires bring out all the good and compliment the entire ride. Nice tire Kit |

These tires are amazing for the first 8,000 miles. Silky smoothe quiet and handle like a dream in all weather conditions. They made the bike handle as if it was 100 pounds lighter. I ride 2-up conservatively. I check the air pressure all the time. I run the recommended 41 psi the manufacturer calls for. Overnight the low speed vibration showed up at about 10,000 miles. They tire still showed plenty of tread life, however the front was cupped and seemed out of round. The rear tire showed plenty of tread life left. I ran over something on the last 40 miles of a 1200 mile trip and had a flat rear. I was able to keep shiny side up and come to a stop. Call me crazey but it is unreasonable to think I should get more than 10,000 miles out of a set of tires. My wing came with Dunlaps got about 12000 miles out of them. Did Metzers got a little better but the noise in the turns showed up at about 10,000 miles. About the same life out of Avons. I'm going to try the Bridestones next. I let you know. |
