After a set of Dunlop Elite III's I now have the Avons front and rear. So far I love them. They have fantastic grip and they do not make the corner noise the Dunlops made. I know they handle great because I am getting into the corners with more confidence and scraping my feet more than with the last tires. I'm hoping to get 12,000 miles on the rear and will add a report when I use them up. Great price as compared to other vendors. Excellent tires and they were at my door step in 3 business days. I had them filled with Nitrogen and the stems replaced at Power Sport Honda in Albuquerque west off I-25 on Montano to Renaissance Ave. Great service! Now I'm set for the summer season---> |

Wow! I was really impressed at how fast I got these (with in just a few days). I had a local company mount them and I installed them. The ride is much smoother and I feel I have more grip around the corrners too. I had Dunlop Elite III's with about 17,000 miles on front and back. They were really cupped and ready for replacement. I don't know if I'll get that kind of milege from these or not but I'd give up a few miles for this level of comfort. I also opt'd for the 70's instead of the 60's on the rear which raises you alittle, however when bike is on the center stand theres no clearance now. Very happy so far. I'd recommend these. |

I put a set of these Avons on my 08 GL1800 and have run them 10,000 miles. They do not look worn out at all, however there is a big crack in the rubber (you can see the cords) on my rear tire. I just installed a new set of the same tires on the bike today. I only give the tires 4 stars because they have worn a little faster than the Dunlop E3 tires that came on the bike, and it looks like the split in the rubber is a crack and not caused by something cutting it. The tires have not cupped and have been very good to ride on except for more noise than the Dunlops. I'm not sure which tires I will buy when this set is worn out. I'll see if the new set acts like the other set and make a decision then. |

So, last season I ended up with those Cobras to 13000 miles. We rode in Italy where tires were cheaper, so I decided to replace. The Cobras looked worn, but I hadn't feel it, even under the rain on a mountain roads. I couldn't find Avons there, so I had a set of Bridgestones. Still don't like them, and it was a REAL difference after switching. Avons are better. in every way. I am still trying to find Avons somewhere in EU, and as soon as we are there I will 100% get Cobras again. These were the first tires that lasted that long with me. |

Really like my Avons Cobras . I keep the recommend tire pressure and road 20,000 plus with out a problem They stick like glue in the twisties and are Great in the rain. I had Avon Venoms on my 1500 with the same results. I'm going to stay with Avons . Couldn't be happier. |

Just ordered my second set of Avon Cobra tires. Believe it or not (doesn't make any difference to me)I have 24,000 miles on the front tire. When mounted had it balanced and put the beads in them and keep 42 psi all the time. True it is slick on the middle of tire and will hum a little in a lean since about 18k miles but no cupping. I for one will stick with Avon Cobra. |

I have an 06 with 63000, I have been running Dunlap D250s and E-3s with mixed satisfaction. I have got up to 17,000 on E-3s with a few more possible always ended up with cupping. I had the Cobras put on about 3,000 miles ago and all I can say is WOW I have driven on them in Wisconsin cold to Florida Heat on wet and raining to extreme crosswinds in Indiana. They stick, wet tar strips does not matter, it felt like a totally different bike, my wife could feel them added stability. If I can get respectable life out of them I will give them 5 stars for now 4. John Kreuzer |

I have had my Cobra's installed for just one year now, and did not put all that many miles on the bike in the summer of 10, I installed the Dyna beads along with these tires and mounted them myself using the lashing strap method which really works slick. The tires seem to handle and corner very well and so far I have had no vibration issues using the dyna beads, the only reason I gave them a 4 stars was that here in wisconsin they like to do a lot of the "snake patch" (least thats what I call it) where they fill the cracks with the tar and throw some gravel over it, those things become like driving on ball bearings on ice if you hit them on a hot day, and these tires only seemed to aggrivate that problem even more. With that being said, it is my only complaint about the tires so far, I have averaged a high of 10,000 miles out of the stock tires and a low of less then 6 on a set of metzlers, I will be anxious to see if I can top the 10,000 mark with this set, everything I have read so far would tend to lead me to believe that wont be a problem. Wingstuff did a great job in delivery, very quick and speedy, at a great price |

I also put over 20,000 miles on my Avon Cobra in 1 year, mostly 1 up riding . Always checking the tire pressures. Great in the curves and excellent at water displacement. I used Avons on my 1500 also with great wear. This i the only tire for me . |

Jim, Whether one is a long distant, aggressive or rides only 500 miles @ year. The following is my 45+ riding years opinion. I live on the front range in Colorado and ride my ‘06 Wing year round with PGR. Yes, even with snow on the ground and 10°. The Wing has the Traxxion suspension system (worth every penny, highly recommend)! Also has ABS, Comfort package and NAV system. I log 25K - 30K @ year and am a member of the Iron But Association. I’ve ridden Wings with a “car tire” on the rear. Also have fair experience on “dirt bikes”. I note the great milage of care tires. I also note that one should have their life insurance and will in order. In a critical situation, the bike’s handling is extremely poor. Maintenance of motorcycles can be expensive. I highly recommend staying with a tire designed for motorcycles. Note Wing Stuff doesn’t offer a “car tire” for bikes nor does any other motorcycle supply company. I believe that newer Wings come with Dunlop D250 tires. I run Dunlop Elite 3 on my Wing. The D250 (had them) is ok but the Elite 3 sticks to the road and wears better. With respect to Avon, the tire wears a bit longer but on wet surface becomes more squirrelly than Elite 3. As for your move, you will experience a great culture change! But for your tires, the best I’ve experienced in Arizona and recommend is the Elite 3. NO ONE gets 20+K miles out of any motorcycle tire! The best I ever got was 14K. Note: The mechanic personally sought me out and handed the old tire to me. He ask if I had good life insurance and pointed out the visible cords. The tires were Elite 3. I just plan wore them out. But they didn’t fail and kill me. Recommend you speak with Wing Stuff and your local Honda mechanic, not the service agent. |
