I decided to stay with a sure bet on installing another set of the G704 and G709 tires on the wing. In the first 350 miles I went from dry roads to a thunderstorm with lots of water running off the roads . I can’t say enough that I did not have One smidgen of slippage. Very happy!!
I found the installation very simple and straightforward. I install two new Bridgestone tires at the same time with no weights as instructed. I will agree that the ride is smoother. Can I attribute this to the balancers or the new tires? The old tires were nearing the Limits and the old rear tire when compared to the new tire, appeared to have flatten out. Even so I found the steering and maneuverability very much improved. Time will tell but at this point I am very happy with the addition and have already put 750 miles on the new set.
Instructions are ok pictures are horrible. Easy enough to install, right side bracket had to be rebent to make it fit. Hopefully it does it job if needed
I have a GL1800 1st Gen 1 with a stock seat. It fit without issue and is easy to hook under the lip of the seat. I pulled the strings tight and cut off the excess, so the install looks very clean. It will raise you up in the seat a noticeable amount and it is a tad lumpy to sit on. I have not taken it on a long ride yet, only about 30-45 minutes so far so I can't really speak to the comfort or cooling ability yet. Last ride I went on was 3 hours in 100° heat and my rear was at its end after 2.5 hours which is why I bought this. We'll see.
This phone holder is very well made and quite strong. Your phone won't fall out of this even on a bumpy road. If you are mounting it on a Goldwing, you will need to buy some different screws however, buy a pair of M6 x 1.0 X 60MM screws to mount this with the supplied spacers. The unit comes with screws but not the correct ones for a Goldwing.
After almost being rear ended by some schmuck in Shelby, Oh, I knew I had to get drivers attention somehow. Another riding buddy has something similar, and it always catches my attention. Very easy to install, pop the seat, plug it in, push the wires out to the side, install seat. We just had a ride to Pennsylvania, and all riders behind us thought is was great. A MUST have safety item!
Install took about 3 hrs. Pretty easy. (Be sure to cover your paint!) I watched the install video and used the pictures include in the instructions for close ups. My left grip was easy enough to get off without the need of the nice tool (Gonna keep that one in my toolbox) 2 Issues First I do have a CB and was hoping that Helibars would have a fix for it in the kit as he spoke about it in the video. So right now my CB switch is shooting the moon. I did order the Traxxion kit but it was at an addition cost :(. But thanks Max for having a solution. Second thing is they provide 4 black caps for the top hex screws. Should be 2 more for the side hex screws. Overall I am looking forward to trying them out if the rain ever stops.
As far as installation goes this was fairly straight forward. Setting the spring and the rubber stop proved to be the most difficult part...but not too difficult. For Honda to leave this off of a $25000 motorcycle is incomprehensible to me. I like to do my own minor maintenance and the center stand is a must.
The belly pan/guard itself is good. The instructions are terrible and missing important information on engine cover removal. The brackets were just poor, right side was too long, left side too short. I needed to drill a new hole in the right bracket and cut it down. For the left bracket it needed to be straightened then bent further along to get the require length. Both brackets were bent to the incorrect angle too.Front bolts are too short to grip the nyloc nuts correctly. Will increase time for any service in the future.
Good bit of kit. 2 problems need addressing to make it a 5 star. First needs shorter screws and second as the bike is metric let’s keep it metric (3/32 drill bit needed).I would only recommend this kit to Americans as they will have the right size drill bit.
Easy install. Lots of adjustments. Great looking. Can’t ask for anything more.
Replaced an older set of Dunlop Q3’s. These things are inspiring and really accentuated my progressive monotubes and fork brace. They go where you point them and seem to stick exceptional on mixed pavement and choppy surfaces. I have not had the chance to try them in the rain so Judy is still out on that as well as the mileage
