Ergo II Highway Pegs for GL1800 Gold Wing
ITEM CODE: KU4056,   SKU: KU4056

04.02.2007
I agonized for months over which highway pegs would work the best. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of Goldwing riders. I finally took the plunge and ordered these pegs as well as the shorter 4.5 " arms, which are really for the longer legged rider and not the shorter rider as stated on the product item. To state the obvious, highway pegs do not work as well on the Wing as they do on a full bagger Harley. The fairing simply is not designed properly to accommodate highway pegs, especially for the taller rider. I am 6' 3" with a 33" inseam. The only downside I find with these pegs is the directions are as clear as MUD! However, if you have some mechanical skill, you will soon figure out how to install them. They are adjustable to many, many configurations, so you will probably find something that works for you. The quality seems to be excellent, both in finish and fit. I will have to see how they actually work when I go on my 7000 mile trip out west this summer. Anyway, I think these are the best I have seen for the Wing. Be sure to purchase the extra 4.5 " arms if you are a taller rider. You will be glad you did.

Short 4.5 or 6 inch Arms for Ergo Pegs
ITEM CODE: PG03443

04.02.2007
I am glad I purchased these 4.5 inch shorter arms to replace the 6 inch arms that come with the highway pegs. I believe there is a misnomer on this website concerning the description that it is for those that want a shorter reach. The 4.5 inch arms are really for those who want a longer reach. I am 6'3" tall with a 33" inseam and these shorter arms make a much better reach for taller riders. They are well worth purchasing and really make the pegs fit much better for taller riders.

Highwayboards were the first things I added to my 'Wing. The installation is not a problem and the brackets have lots of adjustments.

An installation tip: Set on the bike with your feet in about the right position while a buddy makes adjustments. Once you are dialed in, lock down the hardware. I have had some of the fasteners loosen; use Loc-tite and there should not be a problem

I scrape the tips when doing tight street turns, but they have always folded up, no big deal.

Love these things ...

I purchased two sets in Spring of 06. Installation is simple and they look great!

However, during my annual 6,000 mile coast-to-coast-to-coast run I lost both of the mini-masts. The first fell off after about 4,000 miles and the second sometime between my last gas stop and home - found it wedged against my day bag and luggage rack.

I have just ordered a new set - they look that good - but will do things not in the instructions:
1) install hardware with Loc-tite and 2) peen the threads. That should keep the buggers in place!

Kuryakyn Chrome Floorboards w/Heel Shifter
ITEM CODE: KU4038,   SKU: KU4038

OK ... I see 17 ratings of "5" Stars and now you see mine at a lowly "2." Here is my take on this floor board/shifter set:

+ Look Great
+ Comfortable
+ Fold up - you don't have to
straddle the floor boards when
your feet are on the ground for
extended periods (and is
required to lower the side
stand.)

- The shifter sucks:
- it can not be tighened fully
- it rattles when underway
- the spread between the toe
and heel must be for someone
with a shoe size smaller than
a 11. (I wear a 12 - no room!)

The Honda dealer advises me that they have not found a single person who likes the shifter. Folks love the floor boards and tend to re-install the original toe shifter. Not pretty, but better than having the heel-toe version fall off in the desert.

I also ride a H-D FLHTCUI (Electra Glide Ultra Classic). If only the Kuryakyn could relicated that solid feel they would have a winner.

I love mine. My wife loves not having to stand up to get off the bike. I went to a Diamond Seat and backrest and was glad to finally get the stock seat padding in the front adjusted for me so I could get back to this backrest. It looks better and feels better.
