I was a little hesitant about ordering this outlet because one review stated that because of the fuse had a low amp rating, it would not work with an air compressor. After receiving this item, the installation instruction stated that it has a 15-amp capability. I installed this outlet in the Saddlebag, where I keep my tools and compressor, wired it directly to the battery/electrical system with a 15-amp inline fuse, and it operates anything I plug into it, including the air compressor. |
This is a really nice looking rack on the bike. I did manage to get up the nerve to drill into the trunk simce I'm not too mechanically inclined, but I just followed the directions that came with it and the installation was pretty simple. You just need to watch the angle you drill or the holes in the outer and inner trunk won't line up right with the rack legs. This happened with one of my holes but I just enlargened the inner trunk hole and it lined up just fine. I also had the personal issue of dropping the 4mm allen wrench down between the seat and the trunk but a simple towel draped across there (after the 3rd time) prevented any further fishing for the allen wrench. |
This is a great pouch. I primarily us it to hold my kickstand disk which is too big for storing anywhere else other than the trunk. Too many times I've been parked on gravel or soft black top and pull the disk out with no place to put it without setting the bike back down hoping it won't fall over while I open the trunk. But not anymore with this pouch. These are all about convenience anyway and this one sure is for me. It doesn't interfere with gassing up. |
I bought the 20oz. size and used it on a recent weekend trip. Installation was simple. When in the holder I turn the handle toward the bracket just in case I hit a bump the cup won't jump right out, not that it will, it's a pretty snug grip especially when full. |
I rode a trip 770 miles round trip with these and had a tough time getting comfortable because of the side fairing. I ended up using one side at a time and switching legs every so often. When I got back I ordered the shorter arms and they make a world of difference. |
It took me a while save my pennys to get the CB radio so I bought this anntenna first. Nothing hard about it to install and it really accents the bike. Now that I have the CB radio, the antenna really holds a signal. |
This item does an excellent job in protecting the nose from rocks and other road debris. The tabs that go under the fairing strips could be about ½” longer and about ½” lower from their present length and location. But with a little imagination, scissors, needle and thread, and some black material, say from an old pair of black jeans, it works great and fits a lot better. Still, the product is a must have. |
Have the LED version of these, and you know what? They work great in fog, and other low-visibility conditions. Next will be the addition of the PIAA running lights. Being in deer country you can't have enough light. Installation is straight forward. Everything matches up perfectly. Just be sure to align the lights before you put the lower shroud back on....DOH!! |
Just got back from a 900 mile trip. The Switchblades performance is outstanding. Just a note - Be sure everything is TIGHT! Especially the footpeg. Just to be sure I did the LockTite on all the areas that could loosen up on a long trip. Had zero problems. And with a 34" inseam it sure is nice to be able to stretch my long legs. |
Purchased and installed the Chrome one on my 07' Escapade Elite Trailer. Have the small motorcycle size Virginia trailer license plate. Running it Dual Mode. Adds a lot more light to the back of the trailer. Attractive and Functional. Appears and feel sturdy/well build. |
Adds alot to the bike. Good purchase. |
One of my first additions to the bike. They have been great. I only caution everyone regarding breakage. I was putting my bike on the center stand and without realizing it I was leaning into the armrest and snapped it off. Luckily my dealership helped me with permission of the vendor and I was given a new replacement. Other reviewers and the manufacturer recommend caution when raising trunk lid. Be sure and listen to all the warnings. Great product. |
