I put it on by myself with little to no problem. I have back trouble and it really helps when riding now. Great item for any rider |
A great add-on. Looks great and matches the color perfectly. Easy installation. |
They do look OK, although the amber could come close to matching amber lights on the bike. My biggest reason for downgrading is Kuryakan's decision to make the customer pay for Honda's wiring change in '06. The identical item GL1800 opera lights come in different sku's - one for up through '05, and one for '06 and after - each with correct wiring. I guess big K spends so much on marketing they feel justified in keeping one item, then adding an adaptor you must pay another 14 bucks for - and then you have way too much bulky wiring harness inside mirrors. I got 'em on, but with my experience with these and highway pegs, no more Kuryakyn anything ever! |
Put these on when the rubber wore of the stock pegs. I like ability to adjust the angle downward so my boot fits better between the peg and the shifter. |
Bling... Had to have these when I changed the stock pegs. |
These lights are nice improvement over the stock reflectors. Lights look good during the daylight hours and look even better at night. A must have item… |
Installed in 20 minutes. Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Do it. |
Easy install… Pick up the light smoke color. Wind deflection off driver is improved. Currently I am trying to find the sweet spot for the toque on the mounting nut. Every day or so I need to add a 1/8 turn on the nut so the wings stay open at highway speeds. No big deal, just carry a wrench in the bag for the first few weeks to make minor tweaks. |
This is worth every penny. We've used it on many trips on the wing now it's on the trike. |
I agree with everyone else, they look great. However, they seem dangerously brittle. The Center Trunk Molding had a crack in the side tab (pic. 6). John at Wingstuff was very helpful and quickly sent me a replacement, which was also cracked! The third time around it finally worked, even if the fit of the small tabs, that snap into the trunk, was not the best. It seems Küryakyns supplier has tried to cut one corner too many! Once everything is in place it works fine. |
The main attraction of these lights is that they look good. The beam is ok, but the under-dimensioned mounting brackets make them vibrate too much. It is probably only a matter of time before they brake. Having read Mikes review I instructed my mechanic to seal the wire opening properly. He sealed them carefully, but still one of the lights was filled with water after the first heavy rain. If I had to do it all over again I would probable spend more money and buy the PIAA lights. |
These look good. Cars can see you better when you better when your turn blinkers on. A must have with Kuryakyn chrome valve covers. |
