I like the bigger footprint of this than the stock kick stand. I ride my Goldwing every day to work and I used to have to put a small peice of flat steel under the stock one so it wouldn't sink into the asphalt. Now I just put the stand down and don't worry about it anymore. Nice chrome addition as well. When I first put it on I tightend the lock nut on the back a little too tight and it wouldn't spring up all the way, so all I did was loosen it a little and it works great. The lock nut is self locking so it's a great setup
Not as easy to get on and off. I generally ask the bride to help putting this on. I have the half cover on my wish list so there ya have it.

This is a great backrest, but having said that here are a few pointers. 1) It's not as easy to install as it is advertised. Be very careful when cutting into the foam backing and use a long bread (serated) knife) instead of a sharp blade. 2)Be also careful of the angle at which the knife is inserted. You may want to use a guide of some sort to keep the blade at the proper angel. 3)Remember if you mount the bike with the traditional "leg over" you may not after this is installed. All-in-all it's a very nice backrest for the money. |
Unless you plan on using a monkey wrench to remove the oil filter this tool is a must. And if you have installed the coolant guard you have to have this tool.
Replaced the OEM front cowl with ease. Looks great and it's a better buy than the individual chrome cowl fog light covers.
If you are going to pay $100 or more on the lower fog lights why not protect them? Easy install, but you may want to use better rubber washers.
I don't know if it really saves on the dash wear-n-tear but if I didn't have it I might have found out!
I agree with doug on this one, but since I only use it with a cold water bottle it's great for me. If you want to use it with a cup of joe or softdrink there is a model that has a built in expander but I think it's black plastic.
Excellent OEM part. Definitely get the headlight accessory to make the light stay on and brighten when applying the brakes.
Easy to install. But with 33" inseam I find it not quite the right fit. The fairing makes my legs spread out and these babies are just a smooch too narrow. But as far as highway pegs go they are the best on the market.
Just as advertised. Honda specs say no more than 5 lbs on the back trunk. 5 lbs is a lot believe it or not!
Great looking boards, great manufacturing, but not enough room between shifter ends for my size 12's. Don't like the heel/toe shifter either. Do miss floorboards, though. Decided to keep the rear brake arm installed. Maybe Kuryakyn could design a toe shift alternative to heel/toe shifter, then everyone would love them!
