Great product! Easy to install once I got my "Operator Head Space" resolved. Because I use the cooler rack (item #RIGL18010) quite often, I recommend getting the exhaust turndown extensions (item #KU7606). The extensions help keep the heat off what you are carrying.
Great product and a necessity if you have a hitch and a cooler rack (item #0678034). Keeps the exhaust heat off of what you might be towing. Extremely easy to install.

Great product! Truly a "plug and play" solution. I own a GL1800 '08 model. The only thing is, when i used the Honda screws from the old moldings, the new moldings werent machined exactly the same. They worked without a problem though. Self installation was a snap and saved me $85 Install fee from Honda. Would buy again if needed. |
Exactly my problems. Bolts supplied do not fit my Ergo II unlighted Cruise Boards. Will also have to get a spacer.
I AGREE WITH TODDICUS. I HAVE A METZELER FRONT TIRE. HAD 6,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I LEFT LOUISIANA FOR CALIFORNIA ON JUNE 23. HAD 9,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I GOT TO CALIFORNIA. DEVELOPED A WOBBLE ON THE FRONT END WHEN TAKING OFF AND SLOWING DOWN BELOW 20 MPH. AIR PSI O.K. AND I HAD A FEW CHOICE WORDS FOR THE METZELER TIRE. PULLED IN TO A MOTORCYCLE SHOP ALONG 101 IN EURIKA, CA. AND ASK THE YOUNG MAN TO PUT ME A NEW FRONT TIRE. AFTER INSPECTING THE FRONT TIRE HE DID NOT THINK THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT TIRE (STILL LOTS OF THREAD) HE CHECKED THE BACK TIRE AND SAID IT NEED CHANGING. CHANGED OUT THE BACK TIRE AND BIKE RODE GOOD WITH NO WOBBLE. SO I LEARNED THAT WHEN YOU GET A WOBBLE IN THE FRONT DOES NOT MEAN IT'S YOUR FRONT TIRE. NOW HAVE 13,000 MILES ON THE METZELER FRONT TIRE AND STILL GOOD.
This is a good cover to keep the sun off of your dash and seat. Water resistant is a little bit of a stretch, but it works well. I also like the logo. A little red white and blue never hurts.
I have to agree with Dusty... the front velcro straps don't seem quite strong enough, so I used a bungee cord across the middle just to be sure. I took this on a 2500 mi trip, mostly freeway, and the rain cover vibrated so much in the wind that it scratched the trunk lid behind the passenger's backrest. If you remember to tuck it in behind the raised front bar of the luggage rack, however, you can avoid this. I would have left the two front mini-compartments off and beefed up the front straps. Still, it's a great bag for the price. If you're solo, put it on the back seat.
Great look and easy to install. Took 5 minutes per side!
Very easy install and really does look nice.

A word of warning - The supplied bolts WILL NOT fit the Ergo II unlighted Cruise Boards. I had to use the original bolts and install a 1/2" ID spacer from my local ACE Hardware to make them work. Aside from that and a lot of anticipation waiting for them to arrive, they work and look great! What a relief to be able to throw my legs out and not have them banging against the fairing or getting very warm against the valve covers! |
This 6' cable is great. Able to reach handlebar grip area with no problem. This cable does not come with the little rubber boot for the box pass through. I carefully took the one off the OEM cable and used a cable slide lube and streached the grommet with a snap ring expander and worked the cable plug through the grommet. Make sure you have the grommet going in the right direction. Wish this cable came with the grommet installed, it's a little bit of work to get it worked on.
