In England, the F4+4 is great when it's a nice dry day (remember those?) as it reduces windnoise for both myself and the missus tremendously just as wanted. But you need to ride at speeds above 50mph and more for the rain to 'bead away' as the manufacturers claim - difficult on English backroads in the wet and almost impossible in rain/dark conditions where view through the screen becomes impaired. I'm sure the original material works perfectly on aircraft where they travel at much greater speeds! At 6'2" myself, I can't see over the top (didn't expect to) and have to really slow down in the wet. Makes riding in the rain really unpleasant and tiring, constantly peering and squinting through the wet screen and sometimes around it! It's marked with a couple of stonechips (expected) but has scratched (reason unknown and not expected) in a coupla places too although lightly - don't know how F4 can claim it can be lightly rubbed with steel wool! I have considered a wiper blade but don't believe the scratch proof quality is up to the job for such an idea. Fit was simple enough, but really needs to have the lower portion painted black as with the o/e screen. I've fitted a dashboard carpet with the Wing logo to make up for the lack of that effect and that works well to take your eyes off the clear bottom portion where the velcro cushion strip fits quite well, but which is not aesthetically pleasing due to the lack of black shading on the lower portion of the screen. I'll be keeping it on for the remainder of the 2008 summer (???) but really am having to choose my days - I am not just a fair weather rider and this is annoying me. I plan to tour Europe next year, but likely not with this on the bike. Can't imagine having to negotiate the Alps and Pyrenees twisties with this on when it's raining! Great when it's a fine dry day, but crap when it's raining. Maybe the F4+2 would have been better for me because of it's adjustablity up and down, a facility I knew was lacking with my +4, but o/e +2 screens are available in the UK much cheaper than the F4 range. Guess that's where I'm headed!
Excellent price, simple to change out. Heavy covers and seal great.
easy to install but the knobs could be alittle taller to make it easier to feel with gloves on.
The chrome might be alittle thinner, but was needed to be able to flex the piece to fit. We will see how long the 3M tape holds.
The arm rests installed fairly easy. I don't like the brachet in the pocket for a brace and you do have to swing the arms out to get inot the rear comparment. Comfort wise, they are good.
These mufflers appear to be nice quality construction and chrome. They were super easy to install and only took about 20 minutes start to finish since there are only two bolts on each side. The hardest part of the install was lining up the heat shield tabs with the rubber grommets from the OE mufflers. I liken the sound to a Mustang GT or the glass pack mufflers I used to run on my 57 Chevy years back. I notice more growl going up hills and accelerating through the gears. My wife doesn't think there is enough sound change to warrant the purchase of the mufflers. I'll have to wait and see if there is any gas mileage change. I would definitely say they are not loud or in no way offensive to the neighbors as I ride out. Guess a Wing can only be so loud with its engine design.
Bought this originally for my Roadstar, then installed on my Wing. Love everything about it EXCEPT the swivel!!! If you have anything that is taller than the holder, it will swivel and spill, or fall out completely. Get rid of the swivel and it would be perfect.
This is a very easy and quick install. It helps my back and improves the comfort of the ride. I did have to change the way I mount the bike but that is getting easier with time. I would recommend this item.
if you dont have one get 1 !!!!!
Ditto to all that have gone before. Very simple to fit. They really add something to that area of the bike without being overboard. You will not be disappointed with these.
Quite a snug fit, but as others have said a bit of adhesive means these suckers are going no where. They just add a bit of bling to the bar area. Nice.
Great filter. Gets rid of the rubbish Honda product and the thin rubber gasket. This comes pre-oiled and fits like a glove. Getting to the filter is another matter entirely. This change takes hours. Definately get a manual and take a look at Steve Saunders website Goldwingfacts as he has got a nice video showing the main points of removing all that body work and electrics.
