With over 70,000 miles on our Wing now and trying all 3 of the so called name brands, I still like and prefer the Metzeler ME 880 over any of them. I get more miles, less wobble and superior handling and control compared the Dunlops.
I bought and installed this hitch 4 years ago. I felt I should revisit my earlier 5 star review. The hitch had worked perfectly until this spring. We were on our way to Deals Gap, NC to ride the Dragon again when I noticed slop and heard some noise in the hitch area. Inspection found the unit broken completely in all joints except one. We were one piece of metal away from losing it all... and it was cracked! I thank God that we were near our super friends at the #1 Tri-County Cycle in Corbin, KY. They rewelded and added some bracing to the unit. It appears to be better than new. Close to another 8,000 miles and so far so good. In defense of the hitch, we ride a lot of miles and generally the trailer is loaded pretty heavy. Plus, we all know there are some really rough roads out there. Will we buy another one next year on our next Wing? Not sure, probably will look for a heavier unit if there is one. If not, we might add the bracing to the new one before installing it.
A must have. Great inexpensive item. Easy to install. Makes it breeze to connect and disconnect.
Really nice cover. Very light and folds up very small when stored in side box.
Huge huge difference. It's like you turned on another set of lights.
Great stuff! Really does a wonderful job helping to keep the Wing looking brand new.

Had these Honda LED foglights installed by my dealer before delivery of my bike. They work great, really lighting up the road. HOWEVER, I've now had two of the units burn out during my 4,600+ mile journey home. The first one was replaced under warranty by the Honda dealer in Monroe, WI. The one on the other side burned out on the way from WI to OR. My local dealer is supposed to be ordering me a new one now. |
What a cinch to install. Take out the two OEM hex head bolts holding your old gray covers and replace these into their place. Couldn't be any easier. Fit is perfect and when my wife isn't with me and the foot rests are up it just keeps the bike clean looking along with all the other chrome upgrades I have done.
This looks like it was from the showroom floor after I installed it. I wouldn't hesitate to spend the money again. I don't know how much I will use it as a functional handle becuase I have a luggage rack mounted that I normally hold onto to keep the trunk top from opening too fast with the additional weight from the rack. I have tested the handle several times after insall though and it is rock solid. Great looking too.
This is a very easy install. Take it out of the box. Line it up carefully with your already immaculate Wing's front timing cover and press into place. Nothing here to remove and replace except the center timing access piece. That just replaces the stock piece. Fit was perfect. I agree with another reviewer that a pro grade velcro might be a better option if you wanted to remove this in the future. I chose to use the double sided tape since it would appear from other reviewers to keep this in place. The velcro idea was great but I was afraid vibration would get the better of the old hook and loop. Be aware when you set this in place that you center the cover on the timing chain access center piece. One the tape touches it is set in place for good.
Very brilliant change to the front end of your wing. This was an easy install along with the timing chain cover to match. I had my son help me to hold this up in place while I bolted it on. It isn't difficult at all it is just wide. I didn't want to chance scratching the fender or the new chrome. Good quality and perfect fitment.
The instructions are straight forward and the product is brilliant in shine. Very easy install. I had my son assist me in holding back the adhesive portion while I aligned and tightned the bolts at the pivot. Two thumbs up to Kuryakyn on this one for supplying the anti seize compound. I read that it was needed in the instructions and I didn't have to leave my install jobe to go to the hardware store since they included it in the kit. Excellent product.
