Just installed this on my GL1800 and have to say I'm very happy with the look. I recently called Kuryakyn and asked about an estimated arrival date? I was told they were finally getting some in for the first time and would start shipping to dealers very soon. Sure enough, a few days later I received an email from Wingstuff with a tracking # telling me mine were on the way. They also did a nice job designing the amber LED lights, and the chrome looks great up front. Besides, more safety lighting is good to have, especially when it flows with the lines of my bike. Nice Product! Frank |
Was getting ready to purchase this backrest when a member of the Goldwing Club I belong to sent out a message that a friend was selling this backrest and he had it for 10 months. I had one of these on my 88 GL1500 and loved it. I bought it fairly cheap and installed it in about 30 minutes. So far no problems and it helps take pressure off my back. My wife liked the one I had on my 88 GL1500 and I have yet to have her on my 2008 since installing the the backrest last week. Will give an update if she has any problems.
I was planning on a much lower rating, but thanks to Toddicus, I was able to get it mounted somewhat securely. The mounting system is lacking in my opinion. Also, when it is secured to the luggage rack I cannot get the rain cover out of the pouch. Having the opening of the raincover pouch on the top of the unit would allow the raincover to be removed. Placed order on Sep 8th, and received item Sep 21st. Almost 2 weeks.
I bought my 2008 Goldwing new with the Dunlop Elite 3. I ride alot of double up and after 12000 miles, I had Metzler ME 880's installed. Unless you have done this then you cannot appreciate the difference between the tires. Wait till you get the shine knocked off and then hang on. There is not a curve that I worry about and they have never slipped once in the rain. I have full trust in these tires and will never ride with anything else.
I've had the famous 1800 "wobble" from the FIRST day I purchased my new 2008 GoldWing. Now with only 9,000 miles on the original Dunlops they were wore and cupped enough that I decided to change them out before we left on our 3,000 mile vacation. I ordered the Bridgestone's from WingStuff and after doing a lot of research on the DynaBeads thought I'd try them. All I can say is "WOW"!!!Just got back from our trip and the bike never had the wobble ONCE!!(I know this hard to believe-I was amazed myself--I had to keep looking to see if I was on the right bike as I had the wobble for so long I actually got used to it.)All kidding aside I'm convinced the DynaBeads are the cheapest BEST investment that you can buy to go with a new set of tires. The ride even seems "smoother" and I've checked after our trip and both tires are not showing ANY signs of cupping.(Also, unlike the one review I haven't heard anything from any "noise" the beads are making.)I'm ordering more DynaBeads right now so I have them on hand when I need new tires again. If any of you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them-safe riding
Make sure you wear them correct! Your ear has to be between the earpiece and the plastic frame. After i put it on correctly they fit ok and sounded great.
I just installed the floorboards and Toe/Heel shifter yesterday. The positive of this product is that the quality is A+ and easy to install and the brake floorboard is very comfortable but I quickly found that this is not for the taller rider. I am 6',2" with size 11 shoe. Shifting to higher gears with heel is difficult because heel shifter is too far back and the toe shifter does not allow you to place your foot intirely on floorboard so it's half hanging off. I will be sending these back
I had the 40 mph wheel hop when my Wing was new. It came with Dunlops. I put the E3's on at 13000 miles And while diminished the hop was still there and got progressively worse. Now I have the Bridgstones and my bike has never been this smooth. Wheel hop GONE! 2200 miles into them and no detectable change.
Mic to boom interface is not good. Wires break down easily. If I had a "do-over" I wouldn't buy these. Good on the cheap, but you get what you pay for!!
Bought this product and it is easily installed, but it swivels too easily and find myself often setting back up right. I added a rubber grommet to help and so far it keeps it from tilting too far. I would recommend the Kuryakan mesh cup holder over this one. Primarily because it is much more versatile. This cup holder requires you to change inserts if your drink holder size changes and you will use different size drinks as you travel. Kuryakan allows for a multitude of sizes. Other than that it is a good buy. A little pricey though.
Look great on my Wing and easy to install! Two sided tape works great. They have been installed for about a year now and no problems at all!
Purchased this last week, it went back order but still made it the house in seven days!! Thanks Wing Stuff/Cycle Giant. This was much larger than it appears in the Pic, but not a problem. I have the Kruzer Kaddy upfront but after installing this for my wife, I wish I had one like it up front for the driver. Installation instructions were ok and was easily installed. This is a must have for convenience and versatility. If you don't have one for your Wing get one, it's inexpensive and works great!!
