Bag worked out very well on a 3,200 mile trip. Once you get the hang of the mounting system, it works great, and is rock solid. Good place to put need to get to items.

I installed this on new '08 GL1800 about two months/2,000 miles ago, and am totally pleased with this unit. I rode that bike less than 500 miles before adding this. It made a huge difference. It does not interfere with wife's knees at all. It has plenty of height and angle adjustment for me, and looks like it came stock. I installed it myself in a couple hours with no problems other than the same mental block a lot of others have about cutting into a brand new seat. Don't let that concern keep you from purchasing this item. Just use your head and follow the provided instructions...they work. I'm definitely no engineer, and I still had no trouble with the installation. The only knife I had that fit the bill was one of the blades from an electric fish fillet knife, and it worked perfectly. |
So, so. Not the worst, not the best. If you are doing some serious touring, you will want some great sound. This isn't the solution. Not sure what is the solution - any thoughts?

Perfect! Yes - be careful while installing - follow the directions carefully and patiently (there is an extra and I had to use it)! This, coupled with Steve Saunders solution, is the bomb! Take a look: https://www.goldwingfacts.com/1800trunklidfix.htm Good stuff! |
Nice finishing touch to the engine chrome. Installation is easy. Would highly recommend for those chrome enthusiast!
I have not used it yet I made the purchase based on other reviews. usually if I carry a tool I never need it
Easy installation. It took me just one beer to install this!!!
This is not a good fit. I loose too much room in the lid of the trunk. I did not install it. I had one of these in the trunk of my 1500 and it was good, so I guess the comparison was probably different than I was expected.
This is a nice spoiler. I installed it in less than an hour and it finishes off the top back of the bike. I ended up installing the LED light from Electrical connection to have indicators at the top also.
This is a huge bag. Due to the bottom design, it does not fit on the trunk rack I have on my 1500. I haven't used it yet. I'm not sure I will ever use it on the trunk rack unless I remove the bottom insert. It could work well on a Pak-it-rack though. That gives me an idea!!
I have a 34oz that I purchased last year. I use it mostly as a bottle holder. In the heat of summer I will ice a 20oz drink which it holds perfectly. It also holds my insulated 17oz coffee mug for those early morning rides. I will admit that it takes up a lot of room but I've gotten used to it. I have been thinking about getting the 20oz cup and trying it. It is available with just the cup and ring at a outlet here in Houston who does have internet sales in case you are interested, Tom. Sorry about that Wingstuff. I keep hoping you all will carry it soon. Anyway, its not as flashy as the chrome, but its a lot more pratical.
Correction, I wanted the +2+vent. I should have proofed my review.
