I'm giving this a 4 star raring, not because they don't they work as advertised and the installation instructions were spot on! I just am not too sure after two weeks of installation if they will serve the intended purpose in the long run. The trunk shuts fine now after two weeks of use, put the bumpers have deformed and in the case of the right forward bumper it is now leaning back, the other three look as though they have been pinch into a vise. So I'm not too sure what I am gaining after deformation of the plugs. They look beat into submission. Not too sure how long they will stay with the bike before I come up with my own solution. For the price you can't beat them, but now there are four nice size holes in my trunk. If you are unsure about putting holes in your trunk, don't do it!!

Don't know how long they will last, but they just look brilliant on the bike. Glad I bought them. Only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is price - rather a lot for plastic I think... |
I am confused. The standard OEM filter shown further up the page looks like it comes in two types. The 49 State version and the California version. But it looks like this K$N filter only comes in the one type. If I buy this K$N filter, will it fit my California Goldwing SE ?
As the other gentleman stated, after two riding seasons of sunshine, weather, and bugs...the finish is tarnished, and has dulled significantly. This bird has flow his last mission for me...he's going down...

I had these installed last year March 16th on my '06 along with a fork brace, the proper steering head bearings and progressive springs. I put over 21,000 miles on these mostly on the LA freeways 500 miles a week. They still track great and are quiet except on right banking turns (not loud or annoying). I do have onboard tire monitoring and keep the tire inflated 41 front 42 rear. I have tried Metzlers (never again), D250's (12K, 10K) and Elite III's which wore out under 5K. I don't know if I am an exception but, the feel, ride and confidence these tires have provided has been perfect on all points. I'm sure the springs, head bearings and brace helped but, the tires are remarkable. Oh...and not one wobble at any speed. Jim E. |
These were hard to install lost one the first week how can you lose a plug in a trunk ??? I had them in for about 2 months but I have removed them. I had to slam the trunk lid and that was causing trouble with my trunk organizer. Most of the time shutting the trunk would not show it on the bike dash I would have to get off and do it many times. I fell this will damage stuff in the future so bye bye.
I have had these grips on my VYX and now on my GW. I love the way they feel (parrticularly with the throttle boss)and look. The installation was a snap. The only two negative issues that I encountered were with the control levers. First the larger diameter of the split grips eliminates the use of the two closest (smaller hands) settings for the adjustable levers. Second the heat transfer is poor. As one of the other reviewers mentioned even at the MAX setting the grip heat is minimal.
Just replaced my old dented aluminum belly pan with this stainless steel vented version. Most people don't realize the plastic coolant tank on your Gold Wing is underneath your engine and unprotected. If you ride a GL1800 don't ride without a belly pan, it could save you thousands of dollars in repairs. Ride Safe! Ronnie
I have used it to charge, when I let the battery run down listing the radio while working on Bike and maintain the Goldwing battery in the winter. Go the the "Plus" model worth the extra money
Went on fairly easy, I did have to use a shim to pull plastic back from frame to allow the top of the frame covers to fit properly, after allowing a few minutes to set, remove shims
These look awsome on my Titanium Bike very classy looking.EAT YOUR HEART OUT HARLEY.Easy install did not install LED light mounts yet, They go on side covers and would need to be able to unplug to remove side covers. Have lights already installed on bike under covers.
