Finally had a chance to put this on the other day and man what an addition to an other wise ugly area. Really sets off the chrome lower cowl cover. Now, I think I need a fender extension to keep it clean!
This is my second set of these. First set lasted 7 years and were starting to pit and peel so I decided to replace them for cosmetic improvement only. They still worked fine. New set had complete directions, were easy and quick to install, about 10 minutes total install time, and look beautiful. Girlfriend loves them and brags about them to everyone she can. Would help if the spring and such were included but it was a small detail compared to the other attributes. GREAT PRODUCT!!!
the instructions were lacking badly to say the least,,,,nobody should have to "trail and error" for the price we pay for this stuff. Two of the parts broke during installation and yes, I know how to install things but this was just a totally inferior product in my own opinion. I have used Kuruakyn parts for many years and have never had such a lack luster product. Will go back to the full front floorboards which I had on the bike for 6 years. So much for treying something new. Save your money and time, not worth either. :(
Really nicelooking grips. Great fit for a man with large hands.(Ring size 15) Look greta easy install, feel as good as the look.
Put three pints on the shelf for next time, as the factory brake fluid looks fine at 16k.
I couldn't justify anything other than the original equipment, and these OEM pads are quite beefy. Replaced the left front pads (originals at 16k were thin at the bottom, both pads) when I replaced the front tire - easy to do.
It's the dead of winter here and so I haven't had the oportunity to fire it up and ride. Will see about its function once spring arrives. Lots of "up close and personal" time with the bike in order to fit this but then again, that's not all bad either. What I have a question about is the filters fit. Seems it was about 1/16" too large front to back. Made for an impossible seat until you remove the OEM rubber seals as per instructions, and even then fitment was difficult at best. Had to very carefully fit this into the gap around the perimeter of the air box being careful not to press down enough to actually seat it. This would have caused bulging puckers which I was concerned would be an issue once the top was placed. Think I got everything together ok, may never know. Has anyone else found this to be a just slightly off sized piece?
Works well in saddlebags for organize the small stuff. Highly recommended!
No problem installing mine. It fit easy and comes on and off easy for tire changing. I would and I'm sure I will buy it again.
Had mine on for 4 years now, I'm about to put a new one on.. Great fit, looks good and help with bug clean up. Great Price..

I was attracted to the tasteful styling of this accessory. It really adds some sparkle to the front cowl area of the bike. If you are interested, you can check my gallery to see how it looks on my titanium wing. During the installation process, watch out for metal shavings from the machining on the new chrome inspection cap that screws on in place of your old inspection cap. I had to run a rag around the threads and the inside area where the O-ring goes to clean out the pieces of metal. I can't find a 12 point 17mm socket so I used an 11/16 one. The 11/16 12 point socket it wasn't a completely snug fit, but it was able to cinch up the new cap without spinning. Might be better if you got a red garage rag and let it go between the socket and the cap. it would protect the chrome head on the cap from the socket's teeth while taking up the slack due to the difference in size. Be sure you follow the instructions about greasing the threads of the new cap before installing it. Also, make sure the o-ring is there as well. After installation. Start and run your engine until the cooling fans start up. Give the cover one more good press-on then shut it off and let it sit 12 hours before taking it for a ride. Looking good! |
GREAT hitch. Bushtec quality shines through again. I installed it myself. very good instructions came with it. Took me about 3.0 hours to complete. The supplied wiring harnesses are plug and play, and added bonus in my opinion.
