Nice product rack is high enough that you don't need risers even with the spoiler only thing is if you order star washers with it you will need longer screws.
Second review. Still like it but having a problem. The rubber insert inside the extender that grips the stand came loose and eventually disintegrated. I cut a piece of rubber from an inner tube I keep around for such occasions but did not glue it in. My bad! It came out and the extender is loose again. This time I cut a long piece of rubber folded it and glued the folded pieces together. It's now thicker and I will glue it to the stand also. If this does not work I will drill another bolt hole as someone else did and see if that will solve it. I would still buy it and want it to work and eventually it will. I like the way it looks and the way it works, when it works. Failure is not an option!
Put the new hitch on 2010 wing today, took me 4 hours and the hardest thing was replacing the rear fender. Broke one of the plastic mounts on saddle bag, now have a small cap.Believe the problem was had to spread the bags to get the holes to line up in the H bracket.
This is the second winter season I have stored my bike using the Battery Tender and not one worry about a dead battery or the cold freezing it. It is a must if you store your bike for any length of time. It's a smart investment.
The directions were horible. If you've purchased the risers, be sure to attach these to the posts for marking out the holes, I made this mistake and found I had to retap the holes which were off. Almost came close to needing to purchase a new lid for the trunk at $379.00. Also make sure you have a drill with appropriate bits and tapping thread set as I found 2 of posts were not drilled completely and threaded. After speaking with Honda, I recommend buying a Honda Luggage rack as they already have holes marked out inside the GL1800 trunk lid. Took 4 hours which includes time to hardware store.
Bought them, drilled the holes and installed them. One has disappeared and another one is coming out of the hole and the base is tearing through. Disappointed but will buy another set, have to I now have holes in my trunk. I have to put something in the holes.
Bought the lowers in purple. Didn't have the hand wings in purple. Boo. So I made my own out of black 1/4 plastic material. Why should I buy black ones that do not match my uppers when I can make my own uppers for alot less. Again Boo.
Easy to install work well. Thought I would have a problem working around the mirrors but I was worrying about nothing. You will like the way it looks on your wing. Bling, bling!
Bought them like them alot. Easy for me to install even though I had to drill holes, templates worked well. Take your time installing them and you should not have a problem.
Bought 2 one for myself and one for wife. Two things I have found helpful if I misalign the release I have found that if I press on both release tabs and push the two halves together I hear a click and then just pull while still holding the release tabs in and it should pull apart. Another help is if when latching I put a thumb and forefinger on each side of the female base I can feel if one of the pins are misaligned and trying to slip through on the outside.
Installation took about 30 minutes. Very well made (for the cost it should be). It is a 30mm required hole. Drilled it with a 1&1/4 inch hole saw, then gently cut out the extra 2mm with a step drill until it fit perfectly.
All I can say is BLING, BLING! These look great on the bike and really give the engine a make over. I have received many compliments on them since added. Very easy install, nothing to take off they just go over the original covers...
