installed very easy rode for about 40 miles with not speed control problems but i did grease it very well
Great product. Keeps all that little stuff organized. I cut a hole in mine to access the power outlet in the trunk lid and can now leave my phone/ipod etc in the pouch while charging. I also put a screw in the middle to attach it to the lid to prevent it from sagging down in the middle.
these are Junk I have a Kuryakyn rack witch is on my 2006 Wing. The Gold wing has never been left out side or in the rain except when we have been ridding. I like most Wing Owner treat ther Gold wing like the baby. Rack has a lot of pitting and the Large in lay fell off last fall while we were out ridding. I am going to replace this item only because of the spacing of the hole and it would require me replacing the Trunk lid to be able to use another company rack. I would not recommend this rack to anyone that can get another vendors rack. They are junk.

I just installed one of these on an AirBag model. Yes, I know it can't be done. It is best to lower the right muffler a tad. Although the fabrication is not so good, these units offer a long life with some loctite and proper torqueing. I have used one for many miles with no trouble pulling a 400 lb trailer. Be prepared for a battle to get it all to line up. I had to stretch some holes, beat, pry, and leave the washers off the lower H bolts to get the fender to pull in. |
Again, thanks to the reviewers here at Wingstuff and friends that gave me input on what to buy. The rack is definitely good looking and feels solid, not flimsy. On the recommendation of the staff at Wingstuff I ordered the risers for the rack. Because I had read that the risers actually set off the alignment of the posts from the rack, I used some painter's tape and temporarily stuck them on with the rack's posts. Then (like the Kuryakyn video demonstrates) I put painter's tape on the trunk lid, carefully lined up the rack and marked the drill points. Perfect alignment, one 3/8" drill for each post and the rack went on flawlessly. Well, except for the 2 longer screws provided with the risers were too long and the rack wasn't tight to the lid so I used 2 of the shorter screws from the original set of screws for the rack, not from the risers. Other than that, no problems. Installation would have gone very quickly but it took me about 1.5 hours because I wanted to make sure the rack was aligned properly. Checked and re-checked I don't know how many times to make sure. No do-overs here.
Easy to install, really makes my metallic black goldwing pop.
will not buy cobra;s again..after numerous front tire balances i was told it was out of round, replaced it with a dunlop elite 3...world of difference..back cobra sounds like a knobby it's cupped so bad, have a dunlop waiting in my garage....
Nice bag to keep your trunk clutter free. I only keep one helmet in the trunk, so it works great for me. It's held in with velcro, so it easily comes out if I ever need to store two helmets. Just toss the bag in one of the side compartments.
This is a great trunk accessory. Very clean install, looks like it came from the factory. The 1 1/8 hole is a tad big, but I used hot glue to secure it in place as another reviewer mentioned. Thanks for the tip. This upgrade is easy, inexpensive, looks great and very useful. No reason not to do it!
I have to admit, looks great having the extra chrome. Also nice having the extra support.
This has been a very cold season so far causing ice to be on road more often than I like to see so I haven't riden as much as I like to. (Four wheels are far better than two wheels on ice any day). I was constantly having to start my bike and let it run to prevent the battery from draining, and yes it did act as if the battery was weak due to the extreme cold weather. Since I have connected this battery tender I go out once a week to start my bike and it fires right up with no problem. This product performs as promised. Wish I would have gotten one when I bought the bike.

A huge windshield - Giving 4 stars for a really good price, would be 5 stars if the vent was better quality. Installed this on my 08', not sure I believe the measurements that are listed on the description page because this thing is HUGE compared to my stock shield. When I compared them side by side, this new shield is 12" taller (measuring them back-to-back on the ground), I assume they are measuring with the angle of mounting/swept back ..... either way, i'm 6' tall, and on the lowest setting, its at my forehead. With this windshield, anywhere above the first setting or two results in bending downward a good bit at highway speeds. Wind buffeting on my head and shoulders drastically reduced at 70+ mph Installation was VERY simple - I cheated and went to the F4Customs windshield website and watched their detailed video for removal of the old shield and installation of new - not much difference between the models, so it only took me about 30 minutes ..... Highly suggest the video as the instructions that are included leave a bit to be desired. The vent that came with mine seems brittle, not nearly as sturdy as the stock Honda vent, but works. We'll see how this set-up works out this year!! |
