Bought the rack with the risers. Followed the installation instructions. The rack fit great without the risers. I like its look and finish. Two of the risers fit nicelyonto the rack studs, two could only be put on with a hammer. Decided to spare the hammer and do without them. Don't waste your money unless you *really* need the extra height. If you do, you may have to resort to a hammer to get them to fit - poor quality control, I assume. Also, pay particular attention to where you drill your holes. If you drill to fit the rack without the risers, the holes will be incorrectly spaced when you attempt to add the risers. Surprise, the instructions don't tell you this - I have no recommendation as to how this can best be achieved. Also, the bolts and rubber grommets that come with both kits do not come with shoulders to allow for the thickness of the top case cover. The supplied solution results in over compression of the rubber grommets, likely resulting in them splitting at a future date. I ended up using the big grommets from the risers, with my own large flat washers and some star lock washers to have snug, secure mounting without undue grommet compression. The much less expensive (but too small for my purposes) Hondaline rack that I replaced contained quality professional mounting bits. Summary - nice rack (3 stars), poor installation instructions and bad quality control for the risers(no stars) and inferior mounting hardware (no stars). |
Great Hitch ! Install went well. I did remove the two bottom saddlebag screws to lock down trunion bolts on top.Made it much easier to get to and not having to trim saddlebag was a plus to me. I gave it 4 stars because Kuryakyn falls short on instructions.Other then that it is a great setup and looks great on bike.
Put mine on today and already love them. I can see how your tires get out of balance in such a short time from road grime build up on the wheels. I think this is going to be some of the best money I have spent.
This item allows the void to be reconized.
Nothing but five stars.
This manual is a must have item for pople like me who would rather do it my self.
The saddle bag lead wires should be longer, other than that, nothing beauty.
Yes, this is a beautiful item to add to your wing. On the other hand, the wiring instructions are not as clear, I think it deserves a four because of the wireing instructions.
This switch is beautiful. You can see the green lights in bright sunlight and it looks like it belongs on the bike. Glad I bought it.
Instructions were specific and great. Provides lots of light and improved visibility. My only complaint is that the curve of the lens is not exactly matched to the curve of the saddlebag so the edge is just slightly out of flush. Only us picky-picky users will notice!
Loved these so much on my first Wing that I installed them on my newest one too. Great quality, easy to install, and they look fantastic.
I bought this product based on it's apparent quality and weight. The actual quality was just as good as it looked in the pictures. Was concerned about drilling existing threads on one of the subframe connection points but not a big deal. My wife and I used hitch to haul a camping trailer to Flordia Keys from Rhode Island and back. The hitch worked perfectly, even after running over a dead deer on the highway with trailer in tow. Thanks for a good product.
