Got this today, installs in minutes and looks great and the price was right.
Yep it is sharp. Even being careful I still managed a nik. After all it is stamped sheet metal. But I do feel that I added a lot of safety to the bottom. Probably one of the more sensible additions to the Wing.
Nice hose. I tested mine before and it hit 10 before the spring even moved. That means when I thought I was at 15 I was really only at 5....anyway I am a mechanic and I sized this up like I would any other job. Total time 3 hours, did NOT remove the tank. Remove all the bolts but all you need to do is lit it about an inch and you can get a hand in through the battery opening and thread it in and out. Leave the banjo bolt a bit loose and force oil into hose with a syringe till it forces the air out. Tighten banjo bolt then bleed out the reservoir as the online instructions say. Mine moves the spring now before the 0 goes off the screen. Very happy.
These are a little pricey but I didn't mind paying a little more for these. These are well made and nicely finished. Make sure you clean everything well before installing. Dry fit them before sticking them to the OEM plastic just so you are sure how to fit them properly. I like these and it changes to look of my bike. I do recommend these because of their clean lines and look.
Have had this rack on my bike for 3 years and it is holding up very well. I used the star washers to spread out the weight better. Would buy again.
Just used this on a 3-day trip to Utah. Worked great. And yes, it is large enough that weight can be a problem when fully packed.
They work as advertised. However, if you are long legged and have highway pegs installed you may find that your leg rubs against the lower air wing. I'm 6'3" and ended up removing the lower wing.
They will cut down on the rattling, but mine bent and eventually broke off after a years use.
You could have knocked me over with a feather. A little hard to get in, ended up with a few on the floor. When I saw them I sort of laughed but said what could it hurt to try them. Simply amazing is the word. Rides nicer, turns better, no more handlebar shake on decel. What took me so long to buy them?
These really do tighten up the trunk lid. Have had them in for a week and they are wearing in ok. No more trunk rattles on a solo ride. 4 starts because of the smart ass instructions. Use a lube, they twist in nicely .
| 2006 GL1800 I had the springs installed at Wingstuff in Aug of 09 and only replaced the stock springs because the Kuryakyn fork brace I also had installed at wing stuff was hitting my factory brakeline mounting bracket. After much research and debate kuryakyn has redesigned their fork brace to leave clearance on top of the fender for the brakeline bracket (still insufficient clearance). They also agreed to replace my forkbrace with the new model which i exchanged for a Superbrace which mounts close enough to the front fender to clear Hondas factory brakeline bracket. After all of this was installed by recommendation of Rick WingStuffs owner I was riding across smooth open highway approaching 100 mph when my front wheel began to bounce violently. I returned to Wingstuff later brought the issue to the attention of Rick the owner and was referred to Don the service manager. Who determined the forksprings are to stiff to allow the recoil necessary. This is the second time I have bought supposedly bolt on equipment and have had severe adverse mechanical results. | We have the switch blade floor boards installed and to be honest my wife hates them. Nearly impossible to open while on the road not very comfortable. These new Passenger Cruise Pegs are awesome - according to my wife. Very comfortable, she is now able to extend her legs and best of all she can open them while rolling on down the road. For me - extremely easy to install and they are visually appealing. Great addition for the co-rider |
