Switched over to synthetic @ 15000 miles on my 2008 GL1800. Deffinately a smoother shift, less klunk and smooth ride.
Used these for a couple months now. Works Great, sturdy, easy install. Well worth the $
My one star rating is for the product serviceability for my needs. I have a Gold wing GL1800 Airbag model. As soon as I installed the Kuryakyn Clutch/Brake Drink Holder I saw a major problem. The holder blocks the deployment of the airbag. So for all who paid an extra grand for the airbag and it's possible benefit I would suggest keep looking for a drink holder. As far as this product, it appears to be well constructed and useful to most. It is certainly heqavy, large and could probably hold a quart bottle. If the hardware had an adapter to turn the holder over the handlebars instead of pointing straight out it would probably work on the airbag model.
This was a very easy installation. I had the all chrome extension on my last wing and opted for this one because of the flexible flap which is less likely to damage the fender on rough roads. I'm sure it will stop all the crap from ending up on the lower front of the bike. It looks great too!
Wait...What! Addendum to my previous review. The initial date that I sent requested support via their website should have read 06/13/11 not 06/31/11. So, it's been 4 business days and no contact from SENA (not -18 days). I guess I was just so po'd I wasn't paying attention to what I was typing.
I'm giving this product 1 star for the time being. I purchased the Dual set so my wife and I could converse over the intercom (as well as using some of the other bluetooth features). The first time out, the two units would not connect to each other rendering the intercom function useless. I contacted SENA via their tech support website on Monday (06/31/11). They state that the will respond within 1 business day. This is now Thursday (06/16/11) and no contact from them yet. I called them this morning (06/16/11) after 9:00am and no one answered the phone in the technical department. I'll be calling WingStuff.com to see about a return unleass I hear from SENA today. So, at this point I WOULD NOT recommend this product to anyone!
I installed the saddlebag lights in about an hour. All went well until I powered up. One side didn't light up. Found that the press on connector wasn't cutting through the insulation to make contact. The wire insulation on my 08 is quite hard and it took quite a bit of pressure to finally cut and make contact. Connectors could be better. The light look great and add extra visibility. Wish i would have added the when I bought the bike instead of waiting two years.
Really dresses up the inside of the boxes. Also helps to keep things more organized. Good fit in both sidebags and trunk.
Put these on my trunk and bags. They look great and really make you visible, especially at night when they are lit. Can never have too many lights!
Had these installed when I purchased new tires for my 2008 Wing. Been almost 1,000 miles since installation. Ride is very smooth. Even noticed by my rider. Item recommended by Wing Stuff Crew. Glad I listened.
Very easy install! Be sure you buy, if you do not have, the 7300 plug in play wire harness . It allows you to connect a min of two lihgting sytems to work w/ your signal. They look very nice, do not interfere w/ your vision in the mirrors & the added visibility in communicating to others from the two widest points on the bike goes without question.
Good, heavy weighted metal, easy install. Can't claim anything about vibration reduction...yet. The product does finsih out the Kur ISO grips nicely.
