Thanks to all for their input. I am having the Metz mounted in the front and the Kumho r/f mounted in the rear on Sat. From what I'm reading it seems that around 30-35 psi is the prefered air pressure. I'm willing to try anything once, as long as its safe. From the many people I've read that have gone darkside, I hear mostly/nearly all positives. After reading as many reviews as I could stand (at least 40-50)I determined that this is worth the investment and appears safe. After a little while I'll return and let folks know what I've determined. Best, Darrell The only critical reviews I've heard are from those that have never tried using a CT. |

These definitely were a tight fit, but after boring the 1/4 hole a bit and adding some lub the went in with a little coaxing. That said, the trunk lid is definitely hard to close on initial installation. This may improve with time, but I'm guessing a slightly shorter (1/8inch) bumper might resolve the problem. But the rattle previously present when I rode over every bump is 99% eliminated. Hurray! |
| These fit and work great on my 2012 wing. Much better than the BB AirWings on my previous gl1800s. I rated '4' stars since the lower bolts had to be replaced. The stock bolts are not long enough and there are no bolts sent in the package. |
| had a small nail in my rear tire as there wasnt an air loss. I order this kit and waited for it to come in the mail. When the kit arrived I removed the nail and did the steps as outlined in the booklet. The plug did not seal the tire. The nail was in the middle of the tire |

I can't help myself but to make a comment here. No offense to anyone and please don't take me wrong. It simple bothers me to see and hear someone talking like an expert when they don’t have a clue. I am not trying to tell anyone to run an automotive tire if you don't want to. But I will say that if you ever even try an automotive tire on your wing, most likely, like me, you would never go back. Handling is far superior but the smoothness of the ride is what got my wife and myself hooked. Wow! What a difference. Handling?? We bust through Deals gap "Tail of the Dragon" like a bullet. I am an extremely aggressive rider but not in a dangerous way. I just don't let grass grow under my feet! I feel just as confident if not better with the Kuhmo. Yes Darrell, you are correct on the size. I run the KUMHO 195/55/16 ECSTA SPT. I too am a GWRRA member, an insurance agency owner and agent, family man, etc etc. I wouldn’t put myself or my wife in harm’s way. My wife and I have put over 175,000 miles on our Goldwings. This puts me in a group that knows a little more about it than just simple theory saying it’s a bad idea. The bead fits perfectly and you will never ever ever be on the sidewall. I have total confidence that I made the right decision for myself. Here's the man that finally gave me the courage to try it. Glad I listened! https://lifeisaroad.com/stories/2004/10/27/theDarkSide.html Ride safe and ride often! |
| Update, 3rd entry, can't help myself. These are without any doubt the best item you can add to your Wing. I just replaced the rear tire that had just over 16,000 miles. Could have went more but was headed out for a long trip so I changed it a little early. The front tire is still looking good! The ride has been smooth as a babies butt the entire time. Smooth alone is worth the price but the mileage is beyond anything I have ever encountered. Before Centramatics, maybe 12,000 miles if I was lucky. With Dunflops, maybe 8,000 miles. Thanks again to Rick and Don at Wingstuff and Goeff at Centramatics! Great combination. They are the best. |
| I agree with all the previous comments, the wire installation did take a little manipulation, but can be done with a some extra wire and tape. They look great and it's nice to have some added light up front. "WINGSTUFF" Please highlight the need for the plug adaptors. Try big Bold letters in dayglow yellow around the note! Lights were delivered wne to plug everything up and low and behold I missed the note for the adaptors. I was mad but at myself for not seeing it! Wing stuff had these to me in about 5 days. Not bad considering I'm in Jaw-Jaw and Wingstuff is in California! V |

This switch pack is well built and fairly easy to install. The hardest part being adding the wires to the wire chase in the handle bar. (Mine is on the Left side, Right Side may be easier, I can not say) The instructions talk about making sure not to get the break or clutch fluid on this piece, as it will strip the paint. The way it installs you can almost not help it, and the paint on the bottom part of mine has started to strip off. I would have liked it if this problem was taken care of better. Maybe by power coating the piece. I think that would have solved it. I am thinking I am going to take mine off and have that done to it. Otherwise a fine piece. |
| I just had a front fork seal blow so had to replace the pads early but I managed to get 10,000 miles on a set of these and they are only about 30% down. The Originals were near metal at 15,000 miles. Looks like these would have lasted twice as long if they hadn't been oiled so badly by the blown fork seal. I'm replacing them with another set, they have worked fine up till now with little dust and great stopping power. I do have progressive springs and a fork brace on this bike so performance changes are very noticeable. In summary, besides costing half as much as OEM they seem to last twice as long and perform great for me. |

| I've also had this on my '09 for a ful season now (installed in mid May) and have just about 6000 miles behind it. Huge improvement in buffeting control, especially for my wife on the back. Thought I might miss the center vent on the stock shield in high heat, but with the adjustability and the split screen desigh, they're very comfortable with airflow. Look good too; I opted for the medium smoke to go with the mesquite colour of my bike. I have the electric adjuster but not installed yet as I haven't 100% decided on my final position for the lower section of the screen (winter project likely). |
