It took me about an hour to do this install. The back rest and hardware are excellent quality- materials texture, color and design look identical to the seat material on my 08. The pouch on the back is thick material and attaches securely. The bottom of the pad has a full length zipper so that you could replace the padding with anything desired if necessary. I'm happy with the way it feels. Folds in such a way as to give plenty of clearance for passenger on/off.

I've purchased three of these, and two of the external headsets by IMC for use with shorty helmets. The sound quality is very good, up to about 60 MPH. After that, it's hard to get my wife/riding partner to understand me. I had some problems with one of them, and ordered another (at that price, it's not too bad), but when the second one lost one speaker, I pulled off the shrink-tubing and found a broken wire. I chose not to try solder, as they're very tiny. Instead, I twisted the two ends together and wrapped them with electrical tape. Then I secured them under the helmet padding. To keep the cord from pulling them loose again, I used the awl from my small Leatherman, and poked a hold through the rubber trim on my helmet. Using a small wire tie, I secured the cord to the helmet as a strain relief. Since then I've had no problems, and really good sound. If I hadn't had to repair the connection, I'd have given them 5 stars. If you secure the cord when you put the unit in your helmet, you'll give it 5 stars. |
this is a very nice add to my wing. It was very easy to install, and keeps my cowling cleaner
I don't like a lot of bling, so I didn't add too much to the dash area (see pictures). If you're thinking about a radio accent, spend the extra couple of bucks and get this one - it's metal vs. plastic. Only had to make a slight modification (bend) to make it fit perfectly. As others have stated - take your time and make SURE it fits before removing the double sided tape. You only get one chance. I opted for the chrome radio knobs (plastic) with makes it look even better. Be careful taking off the old knobs; be sure to remove the little retaining ring inside them. You need to install that ring on the new knobs.

It fits the rear trunk like a glove! Very practicable as keeps everything together in one place. Also maximizes storage space! |
Definitely makes it easier to remove the helmet with gloves on.
Exactly what I needed when I changed my Alternator as you see the wear on the old ones.
I found that the one side left a slight gap, but the biggest thing is that I can't start the bike while in gear simply by pulling in the clutch leaver. The extra thickness does not allow the clutch to pull in far enough to satisfy the switch.
I bought this about 4 years ago. Still looks new.
Bought one about 4 years ago. Just replaced with another one. Chrome does not last. Starts to lose it's shine and at the bottom mine started to bubble even though I have a fender extension on. But I replaced with the same since it seems no one else makes them. Honda stopped making them also.
I found the instructions very easy to follow. Took less than 10 minutes per side to install and I am not a handy person. The mounting screws fit just fine.
