2-star rating at this time because all I can do is talk with my wife using this system. May be upgraded with everything is installed. First let me explain that I do not text, take pictures, or anything else with my phone except make calls. I am not up on this "Bluetooth" technology. Did not need it until now. After purchasing the SMH10 (dual pack) I was very excited; no more cables from my Goldwing to the helmets. Unfortunately, I was not able to install the intercom system because both of my Bell helmets were on backorder. The helmets finally arrived from Bell and I install the SMH10. Found out the system was not compatible with my Goldwing. All I could do was talk with my wife; lucky me. I immediately called SENA and explained my problem and application. SENA informed me that I now need to buy the SM10 Bluetooth Stereo Transmitter as well as the 3.5mm Stereo Jack to 5 pin DIN Cable (SC-A0121). When that equipment arrives (mid-Aug) and I get it installed, I will write again and update this product review, letting you know if this system will work on the Goldwing radio, GPS, CD, and iPod or if I have to send the entire SENA system back. If you do talk with SENA about this, make sure you get the name of the person you talk to and their extension. I even recorded the conversation because I do not want to get stuck with $450.00 of useless equipment. |
This thing was a bear to install at least for me. But talk about ease of use, wow!! It’s like night and day to put the wing on the center stand. I had a horrific injury to my spine, and was not able to use my stock center stand anymore, but with this thing oh my goodness up she goes!!!! And that is either way, with reverse or manually!
I have come to realize Rivco only makes great stuff. The fitment is a bugger at times but you have to take your time. Just make sure that the passenger realizes that the are only arm RESTS and will not support your body weight. The arm rests will but unfortunately the Honda trunk will not. I especially like the fact that the trunk can be opened with the arm rests up or down. I always get great compliments from people when they see them.
I forgot to mention that since the edges are so sharp I went to a automotive parts store and bought the largest grommet they had for the over flow tube that hang down through the hole. I think in no time at all the edges would have cut or worn quite a bit on the tubes.
Nice piece. Was a bit of a bear at times but in general not to bad. BUT WEAR GLOVES! It is very thin stainless and it being a stamped piece, the edges are very sharp. My only grip would be that they should at least do something to the edges so they are not so sharp. It seems to work well and the fact that it is vented can only be a plus. Especially here in Florida.
I can’t believe the detail on this thing. It looks superb on my refrigerator in my garage.
After researching quite a bit I decided to try this one out. The worst part was the cutting the foam and lignin up the bracket with the holes. Just take your time and it will come together very nice. The longest ride so far was 4 1/2 hours from Jacksonville to Panama City FL. Great support. Now the lower back is not an issue any more. Now it is the butt. Still have the stock seat. Will look into a gel pad next I guess.
Came on the bike when I bought it. Very simple to install and adjust to your needs. A must have on long trips for an alternate position for your feet. Only negative is that they do have to be readjusted every so often because they will slip over time. This is very simple to do - even if your not the most handy person.
These fit so well I wondered if I even needed the adhesive. As stated by others, very easy install and they look like they were designed by Honda. They match my Show Chrome Shelter vent inserts. Well worth the wait on back order.
Quick and easy, only problem I am having, is that the levers do not engage the cruse buttons without having to push them forward. I have change the torgue on the screw thinking that might help. No change, will try a piece of aluminum tape on lever face. I do not see an adjustment on the switch itself, but have looked. Appearance is very good, and adds bling!
These look good, easy to install, really an attention grabber
