The description of the product forgot to mention the fact that when you turn the handle bars to the stops the clutch and brake caliper reservoirs hit the windshield. Poor design! Also the shield was soo tall that it seemed as if I were looking through the windshield of a grey hound buss. I would have had to cut off approximately 6 inches maybe more to be able to look over the shield. I know some like to look through the windshield but try doing that in the rain or when weather conditions cause the windscreen to fog on the inside, visibility becomes nil. very dangerous. Anyway, Slipstreamer needs to rethink this product. I will give credit for the strength of the shield, thick and very strong. Also when you return a product to Wingstuff when they offer free shipping to you expect to pay out the wazoo for return shipping FedEx wanted over seventy dollars for a return. I called Wingstuff and after crying over the phone, the man at the other end allowed me to only pay twenty bucks to return a windshield that hit my handlebars not a bad deal when compared to seventy. Would have been a lot better if the item description would have explained the fact the bars hit the windshield. Had I known I wouldn't have ordered the thing in the first place. |
This takes about 10 min. to install and mabe 10 more min. of riding to relize you should have bought this sooner. I had one on my 1500 and it was the 1st thing I added to my 1800. I cant speek for others but mine stays put when i set it and sometimes I lean hard on it
I will say you can tell the difference with these both open and closed. It takes a little while to get used to the looks on the 1500 but they grow on you after a while. I have sold my 1500 and havent made up my mind if I'll be putting them on my 1800. but I will have the lowers on soon.
Now I know why all dashboard and console surfaces have a non-reflective flat finish. And it only cost me a few bucks to learn that valuable lesson. Anyone have a flat black key bezel they would trade me for a chrome bezel?
Installed the wheel balancers last fall. wanted to actually test them so rode the Smoky Mountains and deal gap. WOW they really work was able to lean the bike much mor then normal and able to scrape the pegs over and over again. love them
the tape would not stick on the corners even though i cleaned them very good.I had to put a drop of glue on them to get them to hold other than that they look great
Received my swoops yesterday and had them installed in less than an hour. Instructions were good and the swoops look great. I agree with Huggybear about the issue getting the lid hinges to line up. I used a small wire hooked through the hinge and pulled it up to meet the holes on the lid, screwed in one screw, removed the wire and put the other screw in. For the price, I would expect a packet of dielectric grease included. I still give them a 5 star rating. Great product.
Instruction are the worse that I have seen. Come on, how about a video or step by step pictures. I have a master degree but these instruction make me feel like a 1st grader. For those of you that have time to kill, like a 2 weeks then go for it.
real easy install about 5 min.and adds so much to a otherwise bland rear fender
Read other reviews and was hesitant to do the install. But desided instead of using the 7/32 drill, I used a #18 drill bit(.169) as a piolet drill, this will allow the drill to follow the angle of the screw boss. Then followed through with a #9 drill bit(.196)equal to major diameter of the 5-30mm screw. Which by the way is the correct length. Length of install would have been less than 1 hour but....because I dropped a screw down behind the rear glove box and required the help from my wife (to which she helps with most of my installs) it turned out to be a 2 hour duration. As an after thought cover all cavities with a cloth to prevent hardware retrievement. As for the intensity of the light it equils all the other lights on the bike. Therefor would recomend the product for a good looking goldwing upgrade.

I bought this item in march, put it on, and have been riding with it all summer, this drink holder works GREAT, my wife loves it, (she is in control of somthing, haha). Seriously, this thing is very simple, and very easy to put on or take off,and move from side to side. I might buy another, that way I'll have dual drink holders. |
Its been a couple of years now with this product we are still getting around 20K out of each set (B/S), in tropical heat, harsh & mostly straight roads, very good in these conditions.
