I've had one of these for years and have been without it now for about a week. Boy do I miss it so I bought another one because my rear end is sore riding without it. I also added a "Magellan Outdoors Self Inflating Pillow" under it and tied it with small tie wraps the the Beaded Seat Cover on the corners. You can see it at Academy here: https://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_26326_-1__?Ntt=self+inflating&Ntk=All |
As some of the reviews say; these look great, and they do. But, I do have to say that after having these on the bike for about 2 months, I noticed the chrome wearing off. Not happy about that, Looks like the rubber should be on the front end of the pegs; not the back.
This is a great addition to cove up the dull valve covers. Easy install, probably the easiest item I have ever installed.
I am really happy with this purchase and the look of the item when installed. Be very careful when installing since you will have to drill 3 holes, but take your time and it will be a snap!!
Put these on the wifes trike and am amazed at how well they work. They seem to really deflect the wind. They are also handy for catching bugs that normally end up on the fenders. Would buy these again for sure.
This is a nice addition to the rear of the bike. I agree with another reviewer, add some 2 sided tape to the ends to keep rags and cloths from catching while cleaning.
These are handy to have as the ones installed will easily fall off and you will not even notice. Get a couple of packages.
Easy installation & designed to bring air back to rider & co-rider, which worked well. We ride 2 up & 15,000 plus miles per year. It works fine until you have any crosswinds & then since the stop nut tip is of a rubber material, the wing will blow right past it & close. Replaced it with one fom hardware store.
I have a 2008 GL-1800 and I like the item. It is a fairly easy install, however, the one that I received blew out two of my phone chargers before I realized what the hell was going on. It turns out as a result of some meter testing that the polarity was incorrect (not sure if it was the device or the motorcycle harness). It can only connect one way so there can be no installation error. Anyhow I was leaving for vacation the next day and so I just reversed the polarity on the power socket and was on my way. Working well ever since but I would not suggest plugging in anything expensive until you are sure it is working correctly.
Will this enable you to use CB with their headset and SM10 bluetooth??Can't get a straight answer from Sena or??
I installed this "mod" and have to say it could be much less hassle if the design team had used something other than the connectors inside the rear view mirror area. Having to run wires from the rear to the front is ridiculous, to say the least. There are easier connections under the seat or behind the rear center fender. This should have been designed to be plug & play, not hunt and seek. Disappointed...
My last post was on the 18 April 2011, Was contacted by F4 Customs through email not long after my product review of this windshield and the problem I had with rain not bedding off the shield. Thanks to the great knowledge of F4 Customs they were able to advise me on how to fix the problem easily, in which I promptly followed their instructions, and once again had my screen shedding rain as if it was a new one. Now with 22,000 miles on the screen it is still crystal clear working as it should with only a few very minor stone chips. Recomend to all who ride in the rain and will buy again.
