Put the front progressive springs in a year ago. Just installed the rear. What a difference. Didn't think it'd make that much of a diff, but WOW. Highly recommend this mod!

Kuryakyn Chrome Floorboards w/Heel Shifter
ITEM CODE: KU4038,   SKU: KU4038

12.15.2013
I have had these installed for about 4 months now. The quality is very good with solid castings, flawless chrome plating and durable rubber inserts. Shift pegs are made from solid stainless steel to eliminate the possibility of corrosion for these high contact wear surfaces. The floorboards are hinged to allow movement on tight turns. Kuryakyn put a wear pad under each floor board to eliminate contact between the chrome plated floor board and the road. If the Chrome plating is breached the underlying material will corrode. Time will tell if the chrome plating will hold up. The hinge also allows quick and easy access to the kick stand under the left floorboard.

On the negative side it took some time to become comfortable with the heal / toe shift arrangement. This is not a knock against the product, rather a note to those who are accustomed to toe upshifting. Once these are installed you cannot use the front peg to upshift. The floor boards are too close to the shift peg to hook your foot underneath. I purchased these boards to allow for multiple foot positions on long rides. In that respect the right-side floor board works well. The board size is reasonably large and allows for numerous foot positions. However, the design of the left side floorboard with the heal / toe shifter failed to meet expectations. The front and rear shift pegs are too long and extend almost the full width of the board. My feet are a fairly standard size 11 and my footware barely fits between the heal and toe shifter. The design more or less traps your left foot in one position defeating the purpose of the board.

After riding with the stock Kuryakyn design for a couple months I made a small modification. Using a Dremel tool and bench top belt sander I removed a little less than half the length from of the front shift peg. The remaining material is about as long as the stock Honda peg and the removed material enables more flexibility in foot placement. Cutting the peg with a Dremel tool with an abrasive wheel is straight forward but a belt sander is required reshape an aesthetically appealing end to the peg. In short, the quality of this accessory is good and installation is very easy. But the restrictive foot movement on the shift side is disappointing. The modification is straight forward and improves usability, but ... on the whole I can only rate this product as a "3".

LED Honda Fog Lights Airbag or Non Air Bag Model Gold Wing
ITEM CODE: PG20103

This is my third set of lights from honda. The first two were installed on two of my 2008 gl1800 that I had and the install was quit easy and uneventful. However the install on my 2012 with Navi was another story all together. The issue was with the foglight switch. This took a great amount of time because the audio box that the switch is mounted in, had to be removed and then the case split open to install the switch. This took a lot of time because the wiring inside the box had to be rerouted to make room for the switch. This included cutting a tie strap that secured the harness. It was difficult to close up the audio box because it was now to thick with the additional wiring, but just kept trying different wire routing until I felt comfortable that they would not chaff and the box would close properly. If you are mechanically inclined, and take your time this project is very doable. Probably not an issue on non NAVI bikes.

Premium Mini Boards w/ Comfort Drop Mounts
ITEM CODE: KU4328,   SKU: KU4328

Very nice product. Looks great if you want floor boards but have concerns with the toe heel shifter causing damage like I did. Installation was very easy, however I had some issues. The first issue is on the shifter side. If you use the center hole for mount, the board is to close to the shifter to get your toe under it if you are wearing anything more than a sandal. If you use the front mount hole moving the board back, it now feels very comfortable with any boot, however the factory kickstand will not work. I ended up using the forward mount hole moving the board back and tilting it downward so the kickstand will work. Works well like this but looks not so good not level. Maybe a thinner kickstand would work. You don't need much. Don't let this stop you from buying these great boards, just be aware of the issues.

Kuryakyn Chrome Luggage Rack w/Rubber Inlay for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU7151,   SKU: KU7151

12.13.2013
Kuryakyn make many nice products, including their luggage rack, but the sparkle doesn't last very long. I've had mine installed less than 9 months and the chrome is bubbling and has chipped off in some areas. The rack is very small, but functional. Hope to never buy Kuryakyn products in the future.

LED Vertical Rear Run-Brake Light Strips for GL1800 2nd Gen
ITEM CODE: KU3237,   SKU: KU3237

These lights are great for visibility from the back, I feel safer with them, but I have had them installed less than 2 months and 1/2 of the left strip will not stay light, it flickers like a turn signal. Very disappointed with Kuryakyn QC.

ISO-Grips for use w/OEM Heated Grips for GL1800
ITEM CODE: KU6183,   SKU: KU6183

12.13.2013
I like the feel of the larger grips, it helps eliminate hand cramping, but the chrome started falling off within about 3 months. Kuryakyn must have a very low QC process to make products for 5 star Honda Goldwings!!

ITEM: SG01200

I tow an escapade and found the right factory convex to be a problem. In traffic it made vehicles to the right look far back when they weren't. after cutting a car off the 2nd time, I took a hammer to the factory mirror glass, reinstalled a flat mirror glass, and installed the blind spot mirror. KODOS, problem solved. Way better, besides, Honda charges $350 for a new mirror assy (they won't sell the mirror separately (beware).

I bought mine off Willie's E-bay page, and as some others have said the mounting bracket broke from vibration. However, as others have noted, I made mounting bracket from some heavy aluminum and it's great. I made my bracket just slightly taller in order to raise the acorn knob higher than the handle bar.
